I am very confident that Mayo won't win this weekend! Onto serious matter... Paudie O'Sé famously said- "A grain of rice will tip the scales". But when the scales tip one way, it takes an awful amount of effort to turn them back the other way. Hopefully we have that little grain of rice on our side. Is this what you have chosen to do with your time today? Come on an anonymous forum and post tripe on a thread that you've never posted on before? Now I know it'll be 30 years next year since Wexford even competed in a final and you're probably jealous of the build up and excitement we're experiencing at present, which given the current football and hurling landscape, Wexford most likely won't experience for another 30 years. But surely you could spent your time better today. Maybe take 5 minutes to ask yourself why you are projecting this jealousy on to us? peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1289 - 25/07/2025 09:46:20 2627840 Link 0 |
And that's coming from a Mayo man!!!!!!

He's a Mayo throll starved of success and the only bit of excitement he gets is having a go at Donegal. Still hasn't got over 2012.

It's not arrogance for fans to believe their team can compete in an All Ireland final, that should be a basic expectation. Your anti-Donegal sentiment probably better showcases real arrogance, because you seem to hold a "Know your place" attitude, obviously Donegal butt hurt whatever County you are from at some point and you resent that because you maybe feel Donegal are a lesser County or something like that. And Meath beat Kerry as well so if you believe the logic that Meath beat Kerry easily and Donegal hammered Meath then it's hardly worth it for Kerry to turn up tomorrow, but we all know it doesn't work like that.

For years, all the young men in Donegal went to Scotland and England for work. Its different now some stay at home to play football. Best of luck Sunday.

Life is fine no need for you to tax your imagination. I was simply replying to a Donegal poster who has an imagination problem. He suggested that counties like Kerry and Dublin who regularly appear in All Ireland finals should receive no ticket allocation when they're not involved. But he included Donegal as a regular All Ireland finalist, maybe he was just having a laugh! Best of luck to Donegal on Sunday, many neutrals like myself will be supporting Donegal for the very reason that their appearance in the final is novel. sligo joe (Dublin) - Posts: 993 - 25/07/2025 10:37:48 2627855 Link 0 |
Nail on head. There have been many pundits who know way more about football giving their opinion on what way they think the game will go. But the teams are so evenly matched, it really is a "grain of rice will tip the scales" type game. Thinking an effort for a point hits the post and drops invitingly for Conor O'Donnell to score a handy goal. That type of thing. Or if it's a wet day, Dylan Casey slips as he tries to get out in front of Gallen. Gallen gathers the ball, draws the Kerry keeper out, simple hand pass across to Murphy for a tap-in goal. Of course the above scenarios could play out at the other end too (shudder!) Roll on Sunday! Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9923 - 25/07/2025 11:10:22 2627859 Link 1 |

I see B rian McEniff admitted he sent an ex sgt to spy on the Dubs in 92.Jimmy did the same in Tralee in Kerry before the last final. Sad. brayballer (Wicklow) - Posts: 255 - 25/07/2025 11:50:33 2627872 Link 0 |
Hope you're right!! Getting more nervous as the game edges closer. Only our 4th final ever and a day to be cherished for Donegal folk. Win lose or draw the management and squad and given a huge lift to the whole county. Donegal people feeling 10 feet tall right now. Hoping and believing that this group will get over the line on Sunday, best of luck to the lads and safe travelling to all this weekend! totalrecall (Leitrim) - Posts: 1128 - 25/07/2025 11:57:01 2627874 Link 0 |

Will you ever get over 1992! Dublin have won so much, as have Kerry, no one should begrudge Donegal another All Ireland.

Like most Ulstermen I will be supporting Donegal on Sunday. But if any poster comes on here and claims that he is going to Croke Park on Sunday totally sure that Donegal are going to win,I will give you a man who doesn't know much about football. Anyone who is honest will travel with a churning stonach. Like all Donegal people I hope they do it but it will come down to "Paudi O'Shea's grain of rice" on the day. Donegal can win it, but so can Kerry. Good luck to players and managemrment and hopefully all you Donegal supporters will be in Donegal on Monday night welcoming home Champions. Up Donegal. Donegal had to build a 6 foot wall around our Scoll of Excellence facility because rumours that Wicklow management were spying on them..

Nothing about his post was arrogant in the slightest You really are embarrassing mayo people and fans. The posters on the blog would be ashamed Btw you've been dead wrong about Donegal making it this far so you'd think you'd reign it in PressureKick (UK) - Posts: 306 - 25/07/2025 12:40:41 2627894 Link 3 |
I do believe Kerry are travelling to the capital tomorrow.

We've learned to ignore that poster. He's got his own troubles. Still living in his Ma's box room.
