I have a sneaky feeling Milltown might have a performance in them against Castledaly and will sneak it."
Milltown looked to be on their way at half time last night . The introduction of Paddy Holloway just before half time to to a serious looking injury to no. 5 proved to be the difference . Castledaly when they got going in 2nd half looked a different class , outscoring milltown 2.09 to 1.02 . When Castledaly got their fast possesion /running game going , milltown had no answer . They meet Tang next in semi in good form and maybe slight favourites .

The result last night just confirms to me that the teams in the top group are to good for the teams in the lower group. The intermediate was always going to be between the top 4 teams, Tang Castledaly Malachys and Milltownpass. The local Derby factor will mean Milltownpass v Rochfortbridge will be tighter than it should be but I'd expect Milltownpass to have to much scoring power . I can see a Castledaly v Milltownpass final

Holloway was a huge addition when he came on. Milltown were impressive in the first half and were very good defensively, won a lot of the ball at midfield and got in for some good scores. The two goal chances they had in the first half in quick succession would have been huge for them if they went in but not to be. Castledaly will be worried about the first half performance but their big players stepped up when needed and that experience is key. Lorcan Dolan got on a lot of ball out the field to get moves going and Alan Stone was very commanding. That game will stand to them going into the semi final and you're right about them being slight favourites going in against Tang. It will be interesting how the four week break affects them in the semi final.

Absorbing second quarter final earlier today. Milltownpass recovery from 7 points down after five mins will definitely benefit them when they face St. Malachy's in a fortnight. Huge crowd in attendance and it was a great local derby. Ian Keelan very impressive for the Bridge and they led from the opening minute until deep in injury time. Credit to Milltownpass who never panicked and Brandon Kelly's goal was crucial. The veteran Andy Devine was coolness personified in firing the winner. Finbarr Coyne, Gavin Glennon and Michael McCormack also excelled for the Pass. Interesting to see the top four teams in section A in both Senior and Intermediate in the semi finals.

4 weeks is a long time without games for tang and malachys, this could be a big advantage for Castledaly and miltownpass. Castledalys first half would worry me I don't know if there squad is as strong as others either.
It's wide open, very difficult to call always were the top 4 teams and I think people called milltown the bridge, tubberclaier just in the next group.

2 great semi finals coming up, Castledaly vs tang and mpass vs malachys.
I can see a castledaly vs mpass final, with Milltownpass edging it. They've some fine footballers than have lost 2 finals, and will be all up for it, with the likes of Kelly Coyne and Duncan, also a rumour has it young brennan is back with mpass, will be a great boost for them if true.
But it will be a very close semi finals, tang missing tumulthy is a huge lose. Aoghus Clarke supposedly bacj for the semi final. Will be massive for a malachys

Tang vs Castledaly being played in Athlone ?? When were intermediate Semis not played in Cusack Park. Neither team have played there this year. Milltownpass if they win , final will be 3rd game in a row in cusack for them . Extreme bias on behalf of Co. Board. Any coincidence Writech sponsor both mpass and competition

No coincidence really that Writech are sponsors of both....Silly comment...Where would you play the game?
I do agree that Castledaly and Tang should be in Cusack Park. Very Strange and I'm sure they would like a game in the park.
Athlone is fit for Semi Finals and Geographically it makes sence if it was a group game but a semi Final game should be in the Park.

Maybe the county board were considering the supporters from both sides seeing that Pairc Chiaran is very close to both clubs. Not sure that Frank Mescall and Pat Reilly have a vested interest in Milltownpass winning the championship. Have they appointed a referee from Milltownpass for their semi final?

No but it is strange that they appointed a Castledaly referee and Castledaly in the other Semi-Final.

Tang Mtpass Final. should be fairly even and could go either way. tang in last years final and Mtpass in 2 finals before that so they are both used to the big day.

Miltownpass vs tang final. Both have been there abouts in last few years. Hard to call it now

A final pairing that not many predicted all week. Two teams that have lost finals in recent years and will be both desperate to go one step further. Tang finished off a scrappy game impressively and punished Castledaly who couldn't register a score in extra time. Castledaly we're not consistent enough throughout and Tang capitalised on it. When Castledaly went 5 points up early in the second half it looked like they were going to go on and win at ease but they sat back and let Tang run at them and Tang plugged away and took their scores when they needed to. They didn't give Castledaly a chance in extra time and deserved their win overall. Miltownpass have come into form when it mattered and seemed to be on top throughout against Malachys. It should be an tight final but I am going to go for Tang who have been more consistent throughout the championship.

What are peoples thoughts on the final at the weekend.
Its hard to call it in my opinion but I would say Tang might just edge. They have been more consistent all year.
Whoever wins it it will be massive for both clubs having been starved of success.

It is going to be a close game , the two best intermediate teams are through to the final. Milltownpass seem to be coming good at the right time and Tang deserve to be in the final , Going to go for Milltownpass as they have the better forwards .

I think it is to be a nice day tomorrow weather wise which will hopefully leave good conditions for what should be a good game. How do people see this one going? Both teams who it would mean so much to win and go up senior after recent final heartbreak. Not many people talking about Tang all year after losing out in the final last year but they have been solid and got the job done while being competitive in Division 1 of the league. The only blip against Malachys where they conceded 5 goals but actually scored more scores than them that day. Miltownpass who already lost to Tang in the group by 6 points also lost to Malachys and Castledaly in the group but have had two good knockout wins the last two rounds. The bookies have Tang favourites but it will be interesting and Miltownpass are on a good roll following their last two matches.

Fair point re the Malachy's match vs Tang. The Tang management have since recalled the vastly experienced Michael Galvin for their past three matches and he has yet to concede a goal. Tang to win based on consistency in league and championship and Milltownpass were not impressive in getting past Rochfortbridge who must be kicking themselves that they are not in the final.

It's a long time since tang won the intermediate. 20 yrs + ? Fair play to them. Been there or there abouts the last few years
