Replying To LongfordgaaAbú:  "With the season almost over and only 4 football games left to play with little chance of any being conceded, it is worth looking back at the year in conceded games using fixtures details from the county site. Here is how the picture for 2022 looks for those who conceded games this year...

63 football games conceded

Clonguish = 9
Longford Slashers = 8
St. Brigids Killashee = 5
Grattan Óg = 3
Mullinalaghta St. Columba's = 3
Rathcline = 3
Carrick Sarfields = 2
Cashel = 2
Clonbroney = 2
Colmcille = 2
Fr. Manning Gaels = 2
Killoe Óg = 2
Mostrim = 2
Northern Gaels = 2
St. Colmcilles = 2
St. Francis = 2
St. Patricks Óg = 2
St. Vincents = 2
St. Vincents/Northern Gaels = 2
Ardagh Moydow = 1
Ballymahon Forgney Gaels = 1
Clonbroney/Wolfe Tones = 1
Granard = 1
Kenagh = 1
Wolfe Tones Óg = 1

There was reference to specific conceded games on here a few months ago, so it is useful to see the context and split of what actually happened this year with conceded games. (This is club football only and doesn't include the recent Dromard Junior tournament). "
You can add that Clonguish v Ballymahon/ Kenagh U21 match to your list of conceded games"
That game was played today. Not sure what you are on about.

Killoe have themselves to blame as they should have beaten a very poor Slashers team. Killoe can't complain too much about Clonguish performance today considering what they did a few years back and blantantly throw a game to knock out Clonguish. Best of luck to the 4 remaining teams. A lot of people know I have no sympathy for Killoe after what happened between themselves and the Gaels back in 97.......we still remember and will never forget."
What happened in 1997? I've been following matches for a long time and nothing happened as far as I'm aware. You seem to be trying to blacken Killoes name by coming up with things that never happened. For a Gaels supporter you sure talk a lot about Clonguish, wouldn't happen to be trolling would you?

Well if you are that well informed then you should know! I talk about football in general......Clonguish happen to be a team that plays within our County so why can I not talk about them? You seem pretty sour over today. Short memory! Everyone in the county knows what Killoe did a few years ago not just the people in Clonguish.

Anyways, getting back to the football. I can see a group 2 re-match happening with Wolfe Tones/Connollys beating Granard in the final.

I see Killoe got a very cold dish of revenge served up to them today lol. But in fairness a good few of Clonguishs players played the other day with Mels so you can't blame them for resting players with nothing to play for. What's the big deal?

What are the semi final pairings now?

As a Clonguish supporter, I can say that there is very little ill-feeling towards Killoe over the irregularities of their game against Mostrim a few years ago. Long story short, Clonguish were not going to threaten that year anyway. It has long been forgotten about.

Clonguish u21s had qualified for their semi final before yesterday. It was a meaningless game for them. Ballymahon/Kenagh had something to play for.
Half the Clonguish team is being trained to the bone with Mel's and just played a Leinster Championship game a couple of days ago. They RESTED their players as they are out nearly every day of the week between club and Mel's.

Killoe had their destiny in their own hands. Lost to Clonguish and drew with a poor Slashers team. People need to move along and quit looking for problems where there are none. Over and out.

Or maybe it is just a function of this particular forum and a few posters on it. Must be tricky to walk around all the time with that much of a chip on your shoulder. Can't be much fun. But there we are."
Two championships ago is not "long term", do you think clubs will just forget your supporters openly gloating on social media? To those trying to say Clonguish threw the U21 match yesterday you must be joking. We were winning the whole way up until the last few minutes. A few players carrying knocks were rested which makes sense when you are already through, why risk anyone? The players on the pitch gave it their all and were just not good enough to win in the end, a completely different scenario to the "Disgrace of Drumlish" two years ago with players walking around, standing up with the ball when the score difference was the correct one. It is a sweet by product that Killoe are knocked out though. "I love it when a plan comes together"

Thought as much. You can't say because nothing happened. There are 20 other clubs in Longford but you only chirp up when it comes to Clonguish and then to throw insults at Killoe. Get a new hobby instead of trying to stir trouble between other clubs.

Haha. I'll narrow it down for you then shall I? It happened in an under 16 game in 97 between ourselves and Killoe in Monaduff. Think back now and see if you remember what happened. I have no affiliation with the Clonguish club bar knowing a few lads down that way, same as with Killoe. I have no issues with anyone from Killoe bar one or two individuals who were involved that day. But if you want to convince yourself that I am a Clonguish man then go on ahead if it makes you any happier lol

Any word on any players been called up to the Senior panel? The bulk will be representing senior clubs with possibly 2 or 3 from Connollys, 2 lads from Kenagh and Ballymahon and 1 definite maybe 2 from ourselves and Cashel. After that there's not much else in the Intermediate grade going by what we seen this year. Ardagh/Moydow were very poor this year which surprised me.

How many teams looking for new managers? I heard on the grapevine that John Twaddle is over Clonguish this year. Was with Moate in Westmeath for the last number of years. Killoe supposed to be looking at a high profile club manager from outside the County. Ardagh/Moydow also on the look out for a manager.

Why is the Clonguish v WolfeTones/Clonbroney game postponed until Wednesday week?
Whoever wins that will only have a few days before the final is plaed the following Sunday.

I haven't heard too much on the managerial front apart from a good few clubs are looking, but that's no real surprise.
I did hear of two supposed appointments, both Longford men taking over 2 senior clubs. I did hear locally that Podgy was taking over us but I'm not sure. As no senior club is coming down this year it would be a good opportunity to go in for a year and have a good chance of winning the Intermediate. But with not too much talent in the squad he might be looking to go elsewhere, somewhere that he might make a few euro on!!

I remember that era very well as it happens and no controversy ever arose.
Killoe were not strong at juvenile level in 97 as many of the lads who went on to backbone our senior championships were too young and hadn't come through yet. We were playing Division 2 13 a side and Drumlish were even worse playing 9 a side on Division 3.
You don't even know who the manager is of the team you're supposed to follow. What sort of nonsense are you spouting when someone like myself, the other side of the hill, heard weeks ago that last years manager was staying on.

Plucking at straws is very ironic coming from you. You've been rumbled.
And not just by me.
I note that you don't address the fact that you don't know who the manager of your supposed team is.
Take a drive down to Monaduff and someone will inform you that it's the same manager as same last year, which has been known for weeks. It's only a short journey down the road from Newtownforbes for you there lad.

Well it's a bit of a longer journey from Galway you fool. As far as I am aware our manager has not fully committed to next year yet. And if you read what i said above, it wasn't me who mentioned Davis, it was someone else who told me about the possibility of him taking over!! Well I'll tell you what happened so if that will keep you happy. I just hope Hoganstand will post it in my next message.

We played a challenge against Killoe in Monaduff. An off the ball incident happened on the field and a row broke out. It got out of hand and a few words and pushing resulted on the stand side. A member of the Killoe committee at the time was involved and ended up pushing a female from Drumlish who is a part of my family. She fell to the ground as a result and suffered a cut and bruising. It all settled down the but an apology never came from that individual or the club towards that person. That is why I have a chip on my shoulder with Killoe
