Replying To Gunner24:  "When does the league season start in Longford?"
It was the last weekend in March when Divisions 1 and 2 kicked off.
I would guess it will be the same again this year.

How are Longford looking for the start of the national league? Hearing good reports about training with is positive for everyone. Make no mistake it's a total rebuild

Has Solans backroom team being named?
I know Austin O'Malley was mentioned in Decmber but was that ever confirmed?

Best of luck to the team this year, a fresh start.

Is Jack Duggan still involved with Roscommon

From what I heard, he is suffering from an injury (groin related) the last 2 years and the only way to sort it is to operate which he is getting done in a few weeks.
This will put him out of action for the whole league and possibly a good bit of the championship, depending on how far we actually go!
Others in Ros have said he was dropped altogether.

Michael Moyles and Enda McGahren the only two mentioned in Solans interview with the Leader yesterday.

I didn't see him there today. Maybe he was in the stand.

Very lucky in the end to sneak that draw. When taking the conditions, the new management team and the rebuild of the team itself into consideration, it wasnt a bad draw to get and while Limerick were definitely there for the taking lots to work on.

Kickouts were an issue i thought. I would imagine the stats on KO's won would stongly lean in Limericks favour, but aside from that we were too slow in our transition from one end of the field to another from the kickout, when we were quick, we went into a nice lead.

Good overall game i thought by Sean O'Donnell and Iarla O'Sullivan, hopefully he wont have any serious issues afrter coming off, probably should have taken him off earlier to be safe, and good to see Oran Kenny back in and playing well.

Good to get a draw in the end against a strong physical Limerick team.
On the down side we let a 7 point lead slip, but nice to see the resilience to come back at the end.
It was great to see young Carey kick a pressure point at the end, a good start to his senior intercounty career.

I'm not sure why half my message was missing!
Would ye fancy yer chances away to Tipp in the next game?
I'm sure the hope is to kick on from the draw at the weekend, although ye have a few tough games with Tipp, Wicklow and Carlow away.
How did the new rules fair out in the game?
The wind played a big factor in our game with the new 2 pointers.

I missed the game at the weekend due to helping with post storm clean up, so I can't really comment on the game.
For anyone that was at it, how do they think these new rules go?
Was there any confusion or did it pass off without any hitches?

High scoring game with the drama that the new rules are bringing.

Did we throw it away with worrying goals?

The Tipp loss is a blow! Need full points from next 3 games and a result from either Carlow or Wexford to have a shot. At best we might end up with 2 losses and 1 draw and looking back at the last 15 years of worst-case promotion from Division 4, that likely won't cut it:

2024: Leitrim went up with 2 losses.
2023: Wicklow went up with 1 loss and 2 draws.
2022: Tipp went up with 1 draw and 1 loss.
2020: Limerick & Wicklow went up with 2 losses each.
2019: Leitrim went up with 1 loss.
2018: Carlow went up with 1 loss.
2017: Wexford went up with 2 losses.
2016: Louth went up with 1 draw and 1 loss.
2015: Offaly went up with 1 draw and 1 loss.
2014: Tipp & Clare went up with 1 draw and 1 loss each.
2013: Offaly went up with 2 losses.
2012: Wicklow went up with 2 losses.
2011: Longford went up with 2 draws and 1 loss.
2010: Limerick went up with 1 draw and 1 loss.

Might have to be patient and let the new man shape something and blood more young lads and long-range scorers over a couple of seasons and push on from there.

Yeah, I agree with you about giving Solan time. He seems to be blooding a good few young lads which is good to see. To be honest, I would have been looking at next season as the year to push on and try get promoted. Limerick and Tipperary were always hard beaten in the last number of years, especially Limerick.

What's happening with the senior championship this year? Carrickedmond and Kenagh staying up now? Absolutely laughable if true.
