Lots of intercounty coaches and selectors do it. He could let the brother work away and come back into the fold when the intercounty scene is done with. Wait and see he will be back with abbey yet

Can't see this happening. Clonguish will keep the two boys for another year.

Yes. They had a lot of injuries last year and the 2 lads will get another year and can blood in a few more of this year's minor team.

Not bad first half from abbeylara but fair beaten in the end with man down but still our record in leinster is shambolic putside Mulinalaghta win and wins in leinster we can't get past first round Gaaforlife2023 (Longford) - Posts: 530 - 03/11/2024 15:08:27 2578119 Link 0 |
Whether they should or shouldn't happen, it's in motion

What's in motion? He won't be managing Clonguish. Has killoe got anyone yet? Coy might get it

Abbey stayed in it well in the first half and looked like they might have rattled Ardee with the second goal. But the better side won easily, and would have beat any Longford side yesterday. Faster, fitter, better up front. Disappointing that there hasn't been a single win since Mullinalaghta won it in 2018, but it's a reflection of the quality of the game in the county right now. Same in intermediate where an exciting but poor quality final leads to the champions being out in the first round against external opposition. We are a good bit behind other counties now. That is not a fair reflection. Abbeylara were right in the match and probably the better team until the cards killed them. They were not far off Ardee at all in general play. I did not get a chance to see Drumlish but they lost a one score match. Both teams with only a few days to prepare. Excellent win for Grattans, I was not expecting that. Granard are a force in waiting. A lot of talent coming through and no complaints about their win liosbreac6265 (Longford) - Posts: 255 - 04/11/2024 12:08:06 2578304 Link 0 |
it was a hammering.

Peter Foy back on Longford panel for next year. Playing great stuff with Lomans. LimerickForLiam24 (Limerick) - Posts: 147 - 08/11/2024 08:44:41 2578886 Link 0 |
Yeah, for the Masters! From what I seen of Foy, he was a lad who would play well for the club but could never bring that form over to the county.

He can't make the lomans team. Didn't start any of the finals and came on last week for 8 mins with lomans winning by 12 points.

Hard luck to Grattans - gave Ellistown a good run for their money and they are a pretty strong outfit. I think Grattans will hold their own in Intermediate next year. Good underage coming through in a few years too. Definitely doing something right in Stonepark. LongfordgaaAbú (Longford) - Posts: 577 - 11/11/2024 10:50:38 2579200 Link 0 |
They were very unlucky. But a lot for them to build on and hopefully they can keep hold of their bright young talent coming through and that they don't go in the road! How's the under 21 going? Are they at the knock out stage yet? Clonguish I am assuming would be favourites for the A championship. Would Killoe be the next best team to put it up to them? In the B you would probably be looking at Slashers, Southern Gaels and Carrickedmond. Oddball (Roscommon) - Posts: 934 - 11/11/2024 13:17:57 2579220 Link 0 |
Grattans bright young talent already beat Slashers comfortably. From what I have seen so far there is not much difference between the chasing pack. It's not arrogance but unless we get a load of injuries there is no way Clonguish do not win this

Another 3 weeks before Under 21 gets to knockout. Probably Clonguish v Ballymahon/Kenagh in the A Final which Clonguish will win. Killoe beaten by 13 by Clonguish and 8 by Ballymahon/Kenagh, so I don't see any prospects there. The B final could end up being Grattans v Southern Gaels. Grattans beat Slashers by 9 two weeks ago, so if they can keep that form up they could do well. LongfordgaaAbú (Longford) - Posts: 577 - 11/11/2024 14:34:15 2579235 Link 0 |
Are Grattans on there own or are they in with Rathcline? I didn't know they hammered Slashers already.....they seem to have a decent under 21 side so with their few County minors coming up in the next few years. Oddball (Roscommon) - Posts: 934 - 11/11/2024 22:22:06 2579303 Link 0 |
We should win it but don't be putting any of those curses on us....we have been missing our whole full back line for our first 2 games! Good to see a couple of the county minors playing on Sunday. 12 of the starting 15 are underage for 2025 and 2026!

Has there being much movement on the managerial side of things? Oddball (Roscommon) - Posts: 934 - 13/11/2024 09:55:21 2579461 Link 0 |
