Replying To Tacaí Liatroma:  "Answer me these questions three:

1. Why do the intermediate semifinals have to wait until the senior relegation final replay is done? Anyway, I see on the Leitrim GAA website that the senior relegation final replay is on Saturday Oct 11, and the intermediate semifinals are that weekend as well.

2. There's not a dickie bird in the Observer or the Leitrim GAA website about the Kiltubrid vs St Mary's intermediate relegation semifinal, but the other one between Gortletteragh and Ballinaglera is in both. What's going on?

3. Eslin got a walkover against Annaduff in the Junior A championship, leaving them on 3 points, one point behind Cloone who drew with Mohill. But if Cloone had lost and also finished up on 3 points, would Eslin have had a case for a playoff against Cloone on the grounds that they didn't get an opportunity (the Annaduff game) to improve their scoring difference? (The Cloone vs Eslin group game was a draw.)"
Just replying to myself; SeanMacDiarmada's reply made me think a little, and I realise I completely misread the other comments about the senior relegation final replay causing a delay in the intermediate; I thought you guys meant the senior semi-finals, but now I know you meant the relegation semi-finals. So that's questions 1 and 2 scrapped in hindsight. Still thinking out loud though at question 3 (and you owe me an answer, all you who didn't bother to test question 1 and point out my mistake)

You're probably right on point 3 but it's a problem for another day, Cloone didn't lose so Eslin don't progress to the quarters.
Junior A relegation finals on 25/26 October, leaving both teams over a month with no game, woulddoubt either team are training for it and a good chance one team will concede it. That is some disrespect to the grade

I agree. I don't understand the delay. And the senior relegation final replay could have been scheduled for yesterday with the St Mary's intermediate relegation game scheduled for today, so that if the senior team lost, there'd be more than enough notice to cancel the intermediate game.

(In my last post, "didn't bother to test" should have been "didn't bother to read".)

If they don't get it done today, they may forget about it. And a tougher task awaits them if they do.

Great battling performance from Fenagh. Mercifully the penalties weren't called upon.
There's been 3 full months to get this championship played - on better pitches and longer evenings.

A mad rush now to get things wrapped up….. Is there not a better timeframe out there?

Crossed the Shannon again today for Fenagh v Ballinamore. Powerful game between two evenly matched teams and could have gone either way. Ballinamore had a great chance in the last seconds but a replay and no penalties a fair result. Ref was a bit picky at times and certainly denied Ballinamore a penalty. Hard to tell on the Fenagh goal . Fenagh took some great scores in the second half . All to play for

Yes absolute madness. The championship should be run off as soon as Leitrim get knocked out of championship

Well it certainly should have started a few weeks earlier. Now there will hardly be a final before the 26th? Fierce late to be then preparing for Connacht (probably wont have to worry about it but that's not the point).

Replying To MarysMan123:  "Some exciting games this weekend, here's my unbiased predictions.

Derrygonnolly vs Mohill
Tight game expected here, both teams have a lot of quality with Leitrim village having a stronger transfer window. Hopefully a good game I think they'll win by 7

Balinamore vs Fenagh
Toss of coin this, gonna go with a tight fenagh victory
Fenagh by 1

Balinaglera vs Gortletragh
Sound be ding dung battle, should be very tight
Glera by 12

Kiltubrid vs st Mary's
Expect Mary's to win
Mary's by 4"
have the jones brothers have any connection to the area? or why did they ask for the transfer?

Ryan has a shop in Drumshambo, lives there part time. Brothers fell out with the home club they went to Leitrim end of story. How many players has Mohil, Ballinamore, Carrick or Manor taken from they're surrounding clubs catchments over the years. oh oh oh but that's different they'll all say.

Crossed the bridge to see Fenagh v Ballinamore yesterday. A very enjoyable game to watch and both teams could have won and lost it. Ref was a bit fussy early on with yellows meaning a red was inevitable albeit unlucky in my opinion. Fenagh took some great scores in the second half in particular but Bmore rallied when needed. I thought the two crucial calls of the game went Fenaghs way. Bmore corner forward hauled to the ground and I think his shot still hit the post and out. Fenagh goal looked dubious from a distance but he consulted umpires and gave it. Both teams survived for another day

End of story ? They are going to walk the club championship this year, they annihilated the best club team in the county for the last 10 years in 30 minutes of football ?

One of them owns a pharmacy in Drumshanbo. The other two have no connection as far as i am aware. None of them reside full time in the county either to my knowledge which i understood to be a requirement??

Derrygonnelly seems to be getting on just fine without the Jones' anyway. Into another county final without breaking a sweat.

To fair that game was won at the coin toss. Still think Leitrim Gaels would have won but if Mohill had the wind in the first half it would have been a far tighter affair, Gaels not too impressive defensively either think they can be got at if they come up against quality forwards.

End of story as in they are with Leitrim now get over it. the teams that usually dish out the hammerings are now receiving them, my heart bleeds for them.

You are correct. How many of the current and past mohill players of the last 10 years were born and reared in the catchment areas of Gortletteragh and Eslin? Certainly more than 3.

I do not agree with the three players being allowed to transfer to Leitrim Gaels and I also don't agree that having them in our club championship will be for the betterment of Leitrim football. That being said any club in the county could have objected to the transfer but they didn't.

Who do we think would've won on penalties? - I would've went with Fenagh. Great game none the less.
Drumkreen might get the better of Dromhair on Saturday.
Annaduff v Allen Gaels should a be a great contest - with the loss of Annaduff's 1st choice keeper due to injury will it make a difference?

oh oh oh but that's very different indeed. How would Derrygonnelly be part of Leitrim Gaels catchment area?? I could absolutely understand the Jones lad that is living in the area making the move (similar to Kilcline transferring to Allen Gaels) but the other two moving as well is baffling. I will say one thing, 3 players have made a massive difference, LG a quarter final team at best without them.

No one had an issue with a Cavan man or Louth man playing in goals for Leitrim
