That's sounds awful childish.

Very. And some people wonder why leitrim football is at such a low point. Just one of many problems behind the scenes

it is 3-4 games tops. I think it can be wrapped up this time of year when pitches are good nick and lads are around for the summer, they're young and well able to play 2 games a week. Better for them than a training session, especially for lads that might not get a full game on a Saturday/ Sunday.

Sligo ran that competition on Wednesday evening last year. It was excellent. Long evenings, good pitch and football for young fellas. It was all over before the championship started.

Yeah makes no sence to me, leaving cert isnt over for some u17, and will go from no games to 2 in 4 days, under 20s of which alot would play for senior team play 2 in 3 days

i see there was a game in each division of the U20 championship conceded last night, poor form from clubs ? or poor planning by the county board holding it now ?. I think there's only 4 teams in each division so 3 games each, kinda makes a joke of it really,

Andy talks a good game that's for sure... nothing new there. I thought Breffni Earley put decent questions to him and was well prepared but didn't really probe / push him on specifics. There was a lot said but nothing concrete on the plan for 2024. My view hasn't been changed after watching the interview (he should have left the job). By the way he was talking he wants to be with us beyond 2024... lord help us if he does.

to be honest i thought this was a good time, good weather, good pitches and lads fit, but obviously some teams are struggling. later in the year pitches are bad and clubs don't want to be playing on them so its hard to know.

Thought it was a very fair interview to be honest. Asked him a few things that I didn't expect aswell. About players choosing stags etc. Instead of playing.

This year was a disaster. There's no way of squaring that off but there's serious potential if they keep everyone together. I do think an addition on the backroom team would help - any ideas on who?

From what I hear from talking to players they were united in the belief that Moran should stay on. That was most definitely not the case with previous management teams. If they can get Jack Gilheany to commit it'd be a huge addition straight off the bat. Add in O'Rourke, Casey, Jordan Reynolds, Killian Gaffey and Cillian Mcgloin who all played very little this year and you can see the potential. David Bruen would also be another starter if he returns. Thats 6 players which is huge. Along with a bolter or two from the club championships/u21s from this year.

I think Donal Wrynn who is getting married next year will step away and Domhnail Flynn and then there is question marks over Paddy Maguire. Unfortunately the talk is Oisin McLoughlin tore his cruciate playing for Fenagh. So all going well it'll be atleast next March by the time he returns which is a blow as he is a lovely footballer.

Players have already been given a S&C plan and targets to hit before Pre-Season which is a huge upturn compared to what would happen in other years.

Lots of time for everyone to focus on the club action now.

I'd be in favour of Andy Moran doing another couple of years at least. Yes the results were beyond poor but if he can get the strongest team on the pitch I believe we will be a match for a lot of teams of div 3 & 4 standard. The one big question mark is the S&C we had so many injuries last year so that needs an overhaul. Both Andy and Mike have great experience in the S&C field and obviously Barry Solan no doubt can help in that department.

I think Andy should be given more time, what is to be lost by trying another year anyway.

Madness if he does tbh, from middle of the league we were over ran and fitness levels not up to scratch in the last 15 20 mins of almost every game. Very disappointing considering it was only division 4 football. Its basically like throwing money away if he's kept on. There would be for better value in paying a proper coach and s&c trainer to come in to out under age academy's and give them all the resources and backing we can to bring football in the county up to standard. I think that current group have reached as high as they can reach and there's not much potential to get up the divisons or go any further in the tailteann. Put some ad hoc man or woman even over the senior group for the next 4/5 years for 1/4 of the price of the current team and flood the underage with the money. That senior team isnt or wont be anything special, alot are even past it and ehen younsee your captain David Bruen thisbyear saying im out snd gling abroad says it all.
Build for the future. Our underage has been a joke almost since Martin Mc Gowan brought this minor team to that connaught final against Micheal Meehans Galway I think 2001. But from recollection Martin had worked tirelessly with that group for 4/5 years and we reeped the rewards if having properly competitive underage teams. To sum it up County Board need to take responsibility for what there creating, high profile manager with no pedigree in managing, give him them much money as they want and limit all underage of money, backing, facilities and we see where that's gotten us for the past 20 years, mid table division. All other counties that were around us in division 4 are progressing well Derry, Louth, Sligo, even fermanagh and Limerick are building nicely while us..............

Total rubbish re Ryan & Riordan. The conspiracy theorists out in force again expressing personal opinions without evidence. Ryan & Riordan will be available for selection next season they are both proud to wear the Leitrim jersey. Andy has confirmed as much in a recent podcast but then some of you posters generally talk through you r what. Nobody passes any remarks on what you post thankfully. If you were a true supporter you would be backing the team remember none of them have left the panel after a difficult season except Riordan & he'll be back.
