Replying To macca999:  "Quiet on here in midst of business end of the club championship.

Kinawley be very disappointed to lose Saturday after being 7 points up midway through second half but failed to score again, Derrygonnelly have a wealth of experience and it certainly helped.

Yesterday Erne Gaels raced out of the traps and did enough to keep the Gaels at bay.
Should be a good final, only a week turnaround which could have impact if either team carrying knocks.

Erne Gaels will be very hungry and will want to avenge last year's final loss while Derrygonnelly always tough opponent plus would like another crack at Kilcoo after recent ulster final, after their antics at weekend certainly be lots of support for the fermanagh champions in that one.

Ulster intercounty championship draw just around corner now too on Saturday."
Overall, what a boring championship season which largely produced a standard below par which sums up our Fermanagh club football. As far as the personnel behind both club and county footie they seem more focussed on who can create the best facilities as opposed to the creation of best teams, leaving players that don't measure up to their capability. So. for macca999 yapping about Ulster club championship is a farce.

Watched both games today. If that's the best Fermanagh produced at senior and intermediate there is some bad coaching going on. Both tactically poor teams,

Fully agree. Very embarrassing to watch, especially the pathetic Teemore effort!!!

Thank you Sean, Ryan and Conall for your years of service to our Fermanagh team. It's great to see the wisdom within them to know when to graciously bow out and make way for others to follow in their footsteps. However, a few of their teammates have yet to wake up to the fact that their best days are over having put self ego or misled loyalty as their rational for keeping their place on the gravy train.

Outsider, believe what you want. Fermanagh folk have their ear closer to the ground, so therefore better informed. Bye.

Yeah I'd imagine we will continue to field a team veteran, sure we could go down to route of clubs in your county and "transfer" lads in sure

Given the age of the players they will probably be finished with County football

Grrr... it frustrates me to see outsiders from a different jurisdiction commenting on our county senior team players. To add to that annoyance, there's the Macca multi poster making an impractical and nonsensical comment about transferring club players from Monaghan. This thread is being degraded by such people!

The gravy train :)? Are you joking? You clearly have no idea what it takes to be a senior intercounty player. It certainly isn't a gravy train. Your comment is very disrespectful to the lads and ladies who put the time and commitment into pulling on the county jersey. Wise up.

Are we not allowed? What's wrong with transferring players?

How dare a bogman* come on to our Fermanagh thread and lecture us about rightness or wrongness of players that ride on our gravy train. Yes, there are some good players that deserve to be on the train journey but there has been for years, and continues to be, squad members who have never competitively played** for the county team along with players that have past their best and still occupy a seat on that gravy train and that's the issue I was highlighting.

You go on to state that county GAA players give so much commitment as justification for them benefiting from the financially and seem blinded to the fact that so so many players and indeed athletes in all sports whether at club or higher level do also give enormous commitment without gravy servings! What I find disgusting that county players, many of whom travel together in their cars, seem to have no problem claiming individually for travel expenses on journeys that have cost them nothing and that's dishonest! I wonder do they submit such benefits to the the tax authorities or indeed where some of them have been financially rewarded individually through commercial sponsorship?

If your Leitrim team setup condones such dishonesty, that says a lot their credibility!

*bogman in the context of what your county is best known for.
**competitively played refers to those bums on the bench that don't field for their county team in either league or championship games and if they do it's minimal. Also, players out injured travelling to training and claiming travel expenses - how honest is that?

My wishful thoughts for 2o24 include seeing Fermanagh doing well, particularly in the league. Although some have deserted them, there still remains a fine bunch to take the team's ambitions forward. Secondly, I have also a wish to be able to channel my frustrations regarding a particular irritating contributor in a tangible way. The inspiration struck when I tasked my older primary school pupils with writing letters to Santa, requesting a gift experience. So, I also penned a letter as follows.
Dear Santa,
I hope this letter finds you well amidst the joy of the season. My most cherished wish is for a unique experience. If, during an intercounty GAA game, an opportunity arises where a self-proclaimed Fermanagh fan named macca999 is ejected from Brewster Park stadium for misconduct-be it directed at the referee, officials, or any other unruly behaviour-please grant me the unforgettable experience of escorting him out by the scruff of the neck. I envision frogmarching him to the gates and banging them behind him, all while someone captures this comical episode for subsequent pleasure viewing.
This imaginative encounter would far surpass the delight of finding socks or any aftershave beneath the Christmas tree.
Gratefully,
Enniskillen Teacher

My god, you lot up there are a rare breed when an educator's interest is focused on making a faddle out of one of your county supporters. I assume it's a dig at a co fan who views clash but I cannot say the same about the dig the same poster made at players which left. That was a bit below the belt! As for hoping for success in D2, well that is a big ask as many would see your team struggling to avoid relegation. I hope that won't be the case.

Thank you everyone for the support via the likes! It seems that an AI-created image of my "frogmarch macca" desire is circulating on TikTok and gaining popularity, a social media that I haven't joined yet.

In reply to the Galwegian, I stand by every word I expressed regarding the players who recently deserted the Fermanagh team, citing non-convincing reasons. I also maintain my stance on venting my frustration with the self-proclaimed Fermanagh fan who consistently offends players with his insensitive and narrow-minded opinions on this thread.
