Yes Bailah, great to see Bogue and King received that recognition from Queens and have no doubt both will make positive contributions to the county team in the future. Correct Bogue couldnt commit with college commitments this year, he certainly could enhance options in midfield area, his performances in Sigerson cup were very impressive too, so im sure when can commit he be a good asset.;

Definitely a pity that some of the forwards from that great Hogan team have committed to soccer, where they have also excelled and can receive financial rewards but maybe in few years may throw hat in ring with county team.

Joe McDade is on the county panel already, he had bad injury and was a late addititon to the bench in Carrick on Shannon on Saturday so hopefully he be able to get on pitch against Anttrim as be another good option for midfield sector

Replying To cillnaile.:  "Keep in mind that the Leckers are well used to unseemly behaviour, dirty tactics on the field and verbal activity and my dad says he remembers one of your veteran players (well-known since) for his dirty play. It seems to be in the culture of you lot."
Too true cillnaile. I witnessed, at a senior championship game a few years back, one of the Belnaleck players deliberately elbowing a key Ederney player in the face, pre-planned no doubt.

Muscle injury I think - close to a return by the looks of things. Hopefully in time for the knockouts.

question
if antrim bests fermanagh is that them finished in this competition?
if not, how do the knockouts work?

No, both Fermanagh and Antrim have qualified for at least a preliminary round knockout.

Top team of each group qualifies straight to QF.
2nd placed team of each group qualifies for Prelim.
The 3 best placed third placed teams & NY also qualify for prelim.

Fermanagh are guranteed to be at least one of the three best 3rd placed teams.
Antrim are guranteed a top two finish.

Hope that helps!

Yes quad injury has been at him all year, hasn't been 100% even when playing .

Out kicking shots on field before last 2 games which indicates not too badly hurt now so hopefully back next weekend

Good to see both McGurn, Corrigan and Cassidy back involved for tomorrow's test v Antrim.

Athletic grounds is a great ground, hopefully both teams go for it and its an entertaining game as they try earn a home quarter final.

We need to cut out the goals,Antrim racking them up all year including 3 in our comeback victory in Corrigan Park which they be seeking revenge for.

Both teams going through but extra weeks break and avoiding potential away quarter final to Cavan, Down and Limerick be a bonus for the winner(have to beat these teams at some point to win it but prefer avoid those trips)

Least know now full plan for rest of competition

The Tailteann Cup preliminary quarter-final draw will take place as part of Sunday Sport on RTÉ Radio 1 shortly after 5.30pm on Sunday evening.

For each of the four fixtures, a 2nd placed team from the Group Stages will be drawn at Home to play against either New York or one of the three best 3rd placed teams from the group stages.

The draw is subject to teams not meeting a team they played in the group stages.

The Preliminary Quarter Finals will be played on the weekend of June 10th/11th.

The Preliminary Quarter-Final winners will move on to the Tailteann Cup Quarter-Finals (weekend of June 17th/18th) where each of the Group Winners will have a Home Quarter Final against a Preliminary Quarter-Final winner

So I think we have found our level .. drawing with Wexford and collapsing to Antrim .. i mean Antrim .. I mean carlsberg don't do collapses but if they did Antrim would be the template … anyway I am putting away my lofty notions for the county team that I had as I left breffni park a few short weeks ago .. as the results we've had since then make this a very jeckyll and hyde season for us… it's time for the real Fermanagh team stand up .. if we can

Poor performance and result yesterday in armagh, Fermanagh started brightly for first 15 with Quigley and Kelm scores, some clever kick passes but then it stopped as slowed down our attacks and the sideways lateral passing game.

In build up to the match Kieran Donnelly spoke about Antrims running threat and it really showed as they breezed past Fermanagh players everytime ran at them, looked like some men in green had lead in their boots . Given the sweltering heat our handfasting probably took its toll on some.

At start of second half again looked sharp for 5 minutes hitting 1-2 on trot but misses a few good chances to maybe kill Antrim off and paid price

All players need to be able to score from 20 metres in modern day but some of our efforts were woeful yesterday. Antrim finished the game strong but worryingly for Fermanagh thought some gave up before final whistle As been the case all year conceding a shocking amount of goals and we can't seem to address this issue, that's 7 in total in TC alone after a league campaign with plenty too. Its a team issue , so open as teams run at us plus high ball causes havoc and makes winning games very difficult, I wont mention keeper as know thoughts on that.

Thought the subbing of Lyons and Horan was very costly as players that came on couldn't win kick outs, definitely need more midfield options.

At home to Laois Saturday at 6pm, they be up for it after poor result v London, need big improvement but if do get through a potential away quarter final looks tall order based on yesterday's showing.
Think be few changes, McGurn,Breen, Corrigan and McCusker all should be in thinking of starts

Very disrespectful comments about Antrim , they do have 10 Ulster titles you know not a bad template i would say

Fermanagh v Laois in Prelim, can see this very much being a shootout similar to last years league game. Both teams have good forwards but leaky defences. Need to ensure a good crowd the make sure we get a big result. Championship is about momentum and we haven't had any since the league final defeat.

A big result this weekend hopefully changes that.

Agree with leaky analysis for sure. Donnelly not getting the problems sorted yet again! Let's hope the players step up on Saturday evening against Laois. With a home game might give us and the players hope but it will be down to the manager to sort the shortcomings. By the way I see the goalie bashing scribe macca is very silent at the moment!
ps. yes Coa Lug, I agree, a bad result and for your information Laois finished 3rd in the NFL division 4 this year so you know what that means...Fermanagh should be the victors this weekend.

Scroll up BigtoeJoe

Wexford finished 5th in Division 4 this year and left Brewster Park with a draw and could have won so does that mean Laois cant win this Saturday? Dont think Fermanagh are in position to take any team for granted.

Certainlyt since Cavan league game in Breffni Fermanaghs performances have dropped off, playing in brief 5-10 minute spells wont win many county games, especially when defence so open.

Be interesting to see the attendances this weekend, as expected with volume of games(none knockout out) and costs crowds have been low across board(Dublin v Kildare 8,000 just), so know actual championship kicks in finally will more people attend?

Bigtoe book an appointment with Specsavers :)
Macca wiseup. The likelihood that we'll lose to the Queenies is remote. Your scepticism is reminiscent of your usual fence sitting stance.

I think Kesh man's comment on Antrim is rather disingenuous and he needs to apologise.

cillnaile. no appointment needed. Full 20:20 vision and the last time I was on your Kinawley turf I could vividly see that your fancy clock wasn't working yet again!!
As for macca999 I got an opportunity to read your comment and it was a waste of time as it's still the same auld tripe and as predicted more goalkeeping trashing!! Blaming the blistering heat is a schoolboy excuse. These are supposed to be well trained players who should no plenty about sweating. Easy knowing you never spent a day in the bog like a few of the players. No criticism I note of the man in charge!!

A really poor affair on Saturday, pretty much sums up our form since the league final.
I feel there are too many passengers in that starting 15, hopefully the return of a few key players will now grant us the opportunity of actually playing our best 15 for the remainder of the competition.
We will beat Laois at home this weekend , but unless something drastically changes that is as far as we are getting unfortunately.
Either way I will be there cheering on the men in green.
