My point was that both Galway and Donegal got poor venues in terms of neutral and central. A Galway poster posted that Clifden to Breffni Park= 241 km Gweedore to Hyde Park= 217 km I replied that areas in Inishowen are similar distances than Clifden, but that Ballgar was closer. Areas in Donegal such as Bundoran were probably happy with Roscommon, but the majority of our county weren't happy with Roscommon. Some posters then posted that Newry was further for Galway next weekend, but perhaps not appreciating that Down have a home game and it isn't a neutral venue. Anyways, we travelled and won, but we appreciated Jim not letting the GAA off the hook. Ulsterchamps72 (Donegal) - Posts: 138 - 17/06/2025 13:20:12 2618710 Link 1 |
I would say the scans will have something to say about that they pushed them close a few years ago, also Leitir Mor aren't a bad side they have some very good forwards also I can seem them pushing Corofin as well,

Galway will, without any shadow of doubt, need to bring their A game to Newry. The fact that this is their first non division one challenger in the past 5 games, could allow complacency sneak in as it did to Armagh last Saturday. Armagh were up for it, went at Galway and wanted to win, I hear people say, but I do not agree. It was a knockout game but only for Galway, and the lack of real physicality, lack of cards, of any colour, strongly suggest that the All Ireland Champions took their foot of the pedal. Playing lower rated opposition for some inexplicable reason very often results in top teams putting in a sub standard performance. Mayo V Leitrim a recent example. Down were unlucky to be relegated despite beating Monaghan in the final game. They hammered Clare 1-16 to 3-27, lost to the Donnies by 6 points in the Ulster championship and Beat Louth 0-25 to 0-24 most recently. They have been putting up big scores consistently and will of course through everything at Galway on Sunday. The bookies too see the the Down V Galway game as the only contest this weekend where there is any possibility of an upset. Kerry are 1/25 to beat Cavan, Dublin are 1/7 to see of the Rebels, Donegal 1/14 to beat Louth, while Galway are just 1/3 to beat division 3 Down. I expect Galway to prevail but not by much. If they do win I expect the bookies to install them as second favs for SAM going into the QFs. giveitlong (Galway) - Posts: 1287 - 17/06/2025 14:06:38 2618720 Link 0 |

I see confidence has risen again to unbearable levels. Without any shadow of doubt???? You're right about one thing, Armagh took their foot off the pedal. Give Down a real chance in this one. JimB1991 (Donegal) - Posts: 77 - 17/06/2025 17:01:58 2618791 Link 0 |
Comer wont tog for Galway again this year. Did his hamstring in training. Another year wasted. They need to fully move on and allow his modelling career to progress. MinorChamp_09 (Galway) - Posts: 16 - 17/06/2025 17:29:34 2618805 Link 0 |
