Replying To gaillimhboy:  "Hypothetically,
Armagh win this weekend.
Following weekend, Armagh beat Dublin and Galway beat Derry.
This would mean that Galway would need to beat Armagh in final game and better their points difference to top the group. If Dublin beat Derry, The Derry game would be taken out of the equation for 3 other teams and the final placing would depend on the games played Galway, Dublin and Armagh.

example: were Armagh to beat Dublin by a point, a two point win for Galway over Armagh would see Galway top the group. As the mini table would read
Galway 2 points +1 point difference
Dublin 2 points 0 point difference
Armagh 2 points -1 point difference

I want to stress that I'm not saying Derry will lose every game, only speaking hypothetically :)"
That's hypothetical alright, seeing that Galway are the only team in the group that have actually lost a game, LOL.

Galway face a massive task in Celtic Park, Derry are well rested and flying again by all accounts. Top the group! PJ would grab third 3 place now if he could and said as much in post match interview. The 3 hard games v Div 1 teams might stand to Galway, but only time will tell.

For Galway to win SAM - they need to modify their team/substitute strategy to ensure their main men are on the field when it counts (last 20min).

Connor Gleeson; Johnny McGrath, Seán Fitzgerald, Jack Glynn; Dylan McHugh, John Daly, Seán Kelly, John Maher; Matthew Tierney, Peter Cooke, Cillian McDaid, Céin D'Arcy; Matthew Thompson, Robert Finnerty, C. Ó Curraoín
SUbs: Liam Silke; Paul Conroy, Damien Comer, Daniel O'Flaherty, Cathal Sweeney, Tomo Culhane, Sam O'Neill, Shane Walsh, Seán Mulkerrin.

I think a Galway team finishing with Comer, Walsh and Conroy will do far better than a team where those three are spent after 45mins

I prib woukd start Walsh v Derry if comer fit sub in reality comer and Walsh have rarely played well together that's why I'd only start one and prib only finish with one of them both good players but not at same time
My team v Derry
Flaherty
McGrath. Kelly. Glynn
Mchugh. Daly. O flaherty

Maher / Mcdaid
Tierney. Cooke. Darcy
Finnerty. Walsh. Thompson

Talking about topping the group at this stage???
Not saying they won't but they have to worry about getting a result in Derry first.
If you offered Joyce third today he would take it 100%.

Loads of football to be played yet, dubs made it a battle and not much in it on scoreboard but they were 5 or 6 better than us, i think we drew in league with derry so it will be hard 1 but team is well capable of getting a result. The group we found ourselves in does not allow u to rest players so dont expect changes from pj. Pluses were game time for daly, cooke, walsh. Hard to with comer, no luck at all with injuries. The 1 thing from last year is u wont get away with playing injured lads in games no matter how good they are.

I ss moycullen have recruited Caroline Currid the renowed psychologist who worked with Limerick hurlers last few years. An appointment every county team would be jealous of not to mention club. I believe she has ties with the club similar to Gallagher Clarke Reilly and Maloney etc. She stopped for a 99 back in 2011 on her way to Clifden. :)

U20 Management stepping down.
This is a very important appointment now after the past couple of years. I'd be thinking along the lines of Kevin Johnson, Don Connellan, Kevin O'Brien or dare I say it Kevin Walsh

With Savo's departure from the under 20s, who is the right fit for the job?
I think it's crucial the county board get this right! Will it be the obvious choice of Alan Glynn or who are the other candidates out there that would be suitable,
Who would people like to get this job?

Don't know who will get it but there one thing for certain if it not ex player they be 2-3 of them in backroom team I'd imagine minor job be available as well this year and I'd say under 20 hurling job as well hope there enough ex players to go around ,,,

Why does it have to be an ex player that didn't go too well this time around

Whoever it is there should be good working relationship between minor, under 20 and Senior as to style of play as in other successful counties.I don't think there is an issue with having an ex player as selector as it's good for lads to have someone who they admire involved. The manager is different kettle of fish. The manager is a different animal altogether.

Heaney in great form for club at present and will be back
In the mix. O Curraoin played with his club also. Think it's only right lads on the fringes or only getting some game time should be asked to play with their clubs, games will bring them on and if they hit form all the better. Heaney a proper club man others should follow suit instead of stewing away on the bench getting a half here and there

I think Heaney was released by county for that game v breannacht as he was only coming back from injury he was not released for match v Monivea on Thursday evening so I'd assume he be in match day squad v Derry ,, other players who are released by county also play for clubs in league matches it's not players fault if they not allowed play ,,
