Replying To baire:  "Au contraire mo leath deiridh, a phoncánaigh!
I'm not interested in what time you give my posts, you can rest assured that you won't feature in any of them. If I hadn't seen 'baire' written in your nonsense of a comment I wouldn't have bothered reading it. I do my best to avoid attention seekers and spoofers extraordinaire like yourself. This is the 'All Things Galway Hurling' thread, not the Limerick Lickers Association! Au revoir mon chiot américain!"
He claims to hail from Florida Baire so maybe a bit of Spanish for him ?!

Just heard the tragic news. It's devastating. Sympathy to all concerned in Galway hurling, but especially to her family. RIP, Kate Moran!

Replying To Oldtourman:  "Your Oligarch comment is a pure nonsense argument. Are you seriously saying that Limerick never had a a good hurling team before JP came along. Sometime you should check out who were the only county to contest eight Munster Hurling Finals in a row or who won five National Leagues in a row. Also check out the attendance at the 1931 and 1936 All Ireland Finals and you will see that Limerick were the first super Stars of Hurling. In '31 Cork- a county with three times Limericks population- and KK contested the Final. There was just over 30,000 at it, five years later, in the midst of the Economic War over 50,000 thronged into Croke Park,, when Mackey's men swept aside the Black and Amber.
We had a three in a row Under 21 team from '00 to '02 and despite JP being the sponsor we failed to win even one Munstrer Title. So much for your money winning titles argument
Are you seriously telling us that men like Hayes, Finn, Hannon, Lynch, Peter Casey, Hegarty, Flanagan and Gullane etc are the gifted hurlers they are because of JP's generosity or are they just following in the footsteps of many other fine players from their county of the past like the Mackeys, Cloheeseys, Howard, the Hindenburg Half Line etc, among several other great players. In 2020 we had five men lined up for our Full back line- To be sure, to be sure- ar eagla na heagla, mar a dearfa-. Four of them (Condon, Mike Casey, English and Costello) were suddenly ruled out. Displaying huge natural talent Nash and Morrissey seamlessly moved back into specialist positions and in no time both had All Stars won, in those positions. Kyle Hayes by his 21st birthday had played in All Ireland Finals at Full and Centre Forward and wing back and went back up in the forwards last Sunday and caused havoc again. In '14, on an awful day, Hannon took on the KK defence and took them for five points from play at centre forward and now he is not alone recognised as a first class defender, but the probably the best distributor of the ball in the current game. Not to mention Mike Casey who returned to the side after a two year absence and gave a dsiplay, which made it hard to credit he was ever away. ALL TO DO WITH JPS MONEY according to you.
You really should get over that loss in '18."
Just to let you know, to save you the bother, I no longer read your long-winded, repetitive, cliché-riddled nonsense.

Avoid at all costs would be the sensible thing to do! He wants to drag me into his gutter, where baseball originated! I wonder does he understand the meaning of base?

Replying To tommy k:  "Why not try TJ Brennan at centreback where he plays for Clarinbridge instead of GMac and Fintan Burke at fullback for Daithi. Jack Hastings is not up to intercounty level (too slow and not skillful enough) and serious doubts now exist about Cianan Fahy and Evan Niland also."
i dont think tj will be involved this week for personal reasons the poor fella.

i hope to see him in a galway jersey very soon.

hes more then capable of playing all 6 positions in the back line and he'll be a great
hurler in the future.,no douth..

Thanks, OTM, for taking the time to put this together. It's a lovely read, worthy of being read out on the 6 o'clock news!
Form is temporary, class is permanent, and all that.
Onward and upward to our Boys In Green!

'oligarch' is that your new word for the year. We thought we could have an adult conversation about the hurling championship but you haven't the intelligence for that. Hon the All Ireland champions.

Yes and ye had 42 - 45 years in between titles to reflect on how great ye were! At least in our barren periods we had our footballers to fall back on plus countless underage and club AI titles in both codes!

I am sure your fair and honest assessment is more on the ball than that of some others here. We can all criticise referees, but players and managements make mistakes as well and would any of those detracting from the performance of refs here actually put up with the abuse they take, both during games and in Social Media thereafter.
