With the Championship now wrapped up and Loughrea deserving winners, Attention will not start turning to next year's inter-county panel. I'm curious to hear who has impressed people most this season. From what I've seen, there are several players who could (or should) be given a shot with the county setup. A few have been involved before but didn't get much game time, so it would be great to see them given more of an opportunity.
Loughrea: Kieran Hanrahan, Cullen Killeen, Darren Shaughnessy, Anthony Burns, Shane Morgan (in with the panel last year but didn't get much time) St. Thomas': Manso Turloughmore: Cillian Trayers, Barry Callanan, Cillian Whelan Craughwell: Ciaran Leen Oranmore-Maree: Rory Burke (should be given more game time this year) Tommie Larkins: Ronan Murphy (in before but one of the standouts this year), Cian Duggan Athenry: Jason Rabbitte Clarinbridge: Aaron Niland Castlegar / Mellows: Ed O'Reilly Kilnadeema-Leitrim: Comer, Colm Molloy (started a few games last year) Ballinderreen: Evan Morgan, Luke Prendergast Padraig Pearses: Jonah Donnellan Kinvara: O'Connor Gort: Ben O'Donovan

It has to be hoped that the Galway Senior Hurling Mgt will eat some humble pie regarding Kieran Hanrahan .
Without doubt the outstanding corner back in County Galway for the last few years.

Tiernan will be there also

Comes from good stock

There's enough young forwards anyway with Rory Burke, Niland and Rabbitte to come in. Daniel Comar from Kilnadeema is an interesting shout. Saw him with the college last year and he is very raw but definitely something to work with there. He must be 6ft6.

Replying To katser: "Great win for the mighty men from Meelick-Eyrecourt!!" Congratulations
Deserved win as you were better on the day, we never got going and in all honesty you should have won more comfortably really. Game played in a good spirit and your supporters were very gracious, it's nice to see supporters put it all into backing their team instead of jeering the opposition or abusing the referee (who was very good).
Not sure you'll go much further than today mind you but ye won't care too much about that today I'm sure.
On a side note, and while in no way trying to take from their win, which as I said was deserved, does the fact that Kinvara's S/F was streamed while Meelick/Eyrecourt's wasn't give an advantage to one side in analysis terms?
It may not have. It may have made no difference. But equally, it's not as if M/E wouldn't have been able to use the stream to set up for tagging purposes etc. and why wouldn't they?
No criticism of them. But it's an odd thing all the same. Why stream one and not the other? Surely going forward play the semis as a D/H and stream them both?

We could do with giving a greater chance to lads who were there this year for a start anyway. We can't forget that the likes of Burns and Fleming didn't start v Tipp when it mattered this year
