Replying To Doylerwex:  "Need to be gracious in victory or defeat mate.

Galway's long history of underachievers is nothing to do with us being well beaten yesterday."
Bit of a myth this 'underachieving' tag imo. I asked you before to name these underachieving Galway players, and you named 5or6, that to my eye (with maybe one exception Broderick) were no better than average players, but perhaps to the distant Wexford eye were chargeable as underachieving for some reason.

They say it's alright to talk to yourself but once you start answering yourself it's getting serious!

I didn't see the match but was listening to it on the iPhone. The announcers kept repeating WORK RATE of the Galway Hurlers which I was happy to hear. If we improve a bit every match then I'm sure good things will happen in the near future. Side note: Lee Chin is a fine hurler that any county would be happy to have.

Replying To Galway456:  "Yes that was only to get a reaction Chin is a brillant hurler but to say we only produced one better hurler is even more ridiculous, first of all compare Cathal Mannion and lee chin i would say mannion is a better hurler, then to dive deeper joe canning, david burke, joe cooney, eugene cloonan, and i would say Conor Whelan and if we count in the backs and what our lads have achieved id say daithi Burke is a far better hurler than chin, a 4 time all star who would pocket any hurler on his day"
Joe canning is who I was talking about obviously.

Don't get me wrong, there are loads of great hurlers from Galway. Chinner is a clubman of mine and I can't not defend him knowing how hard he has worked.

He was awful in 2013 and has improved immeasurably every year since.

Every hurling person knows they're lucky to have seen him.

Sadly he's going to be in the collection of all time greats who never saw an all Ireland final.

All stars mean nothing. Only semi finals are considered which is complete nonsense.

The fact that Chin keeps getting nominated when we're not making provincial finals and getting beaten in quarter finals is probably a bigger achievement.

Anyway, good luck in your remaining games.

Absolutely vital that the u20s win against Dublin on Wednesday evening and go on and win Leinster. Tipp are strong in Munster on other side but we are well overdue a Leinster u20 title at least.

Next year's squad will be incredibly strong (pretty much nailed on to win Leinster with next year's bunch) and we have to use these two years to bring a large bunch through to senior with u20 silverware like what Cork done with a period of u20 dominance.

Apologies all on the Galway forum if my post came across as a bit off and tetchy, just disappointed way Wexford never turned up yesterday, Galway were obviously the better team on the day so on that score no complaints from me. Wished we could have put up any sort of display. Time to move on.
