Agree. But, well past time to abandon the SALTHILL WIND TUNNEL. Can't even maintain a tv connection!

There would want to be a root and branch clean out of the oafs in charge of Galway hurling. It'll be alright Jack is no longer good enough. The arrogance has to go we've no divine right to be at the top table. Proper coaching and tactics need to be implemented from the bottom up. 2maroonjerseys (Galway) - Posts: 101 - 26/05/2024 15:34:50 2547219 Link 3 |
Hurling in this county will fall away.. Time to stop throwing away money on Shefflin and the seniors.. Belclare7 (Galway) - Posts: 269 - 26/05/2024 15:36:26 2547220 Link 3 |
Very disappointed but not shocked. A lot of decisions to be made in the LONGGG offseason. Congrats Dublin. Sigh. Trump2020 (Galway) - Posts: 2513 - 26/05/2024 15:40:38 2547223 Link 1 |
1st half wides, cut open way too easy, the red card, aimless ball inside… the list goes on. All comes down to one simple fact, we are not good enough to dine at the top table of hurling anymore. Well done to Dublin. ahsure. (Galway) - Posts: 1697 - 26/05/2024 15:48:59 2547227 Link 3 |
No need to wait for Monday to see. Tbh, Galway are a brutal team to watch. Good that we have munster hurling to look forward to. Thankfully, our traditional football gane is back in track. AnCrúiscínLán (Galway) - Posts: 103 - 26/05/2024 16:01:11 2547238 Link 1 |

No tactics again. Set up with a sweeper with the wind. 2maroonjerseys (Galway) - Posts: 101 - 26/05/2024 16:23:41 2547252 Link 1 |

The senior club needs an overhaul with 24 teams. Senior A and B. You need 14 teams senior and sort out the intermediate and junior as well. Two groups of 7 each group winner into county final. Bottom 2 in each group relegated. Dog eat dog it's the only way yell get a bit of steel into the county hurlers. Theyre coasting in the club championship only gets competitive in the quarters(madness with 3 getting out of each group). 2maroonjerseys (Galway) - Posts: 101 - 26/05/2024 17:35:02 2547290 Link 2 |
People are happy when we win and disappointed when we lose and don't play well. What do you expect people to say when we get knocked out of the championship in May? It's not heaping on misery to say we've been poor this year and seem to have regressed further over the past year. The players and management are well aware of the same. Think it's fair to say we are at the end of the Shefflin era, and it's also fair to say that it ended or maybe a better word it fizzled out in spectacular fashion. Galway4ever (Galway) - Posts: 221 - 26/05/2024 18:02:43 2547306 Link 2 |
Commiserations! Sad to go out of championship in the month of May. Dublin were much the better team, though. foreveryoung (USA) - Posts: 2248 - 26/05/2024 18:08:01 2547308 Link 1 |
It's a shocking result for us....only for the red card We would have beaten them, now all We can do is watch Kilkenny cruise into another All Ireland Semi Final after they win the Leinster Final. Cork will destroy Dublin in the All Ireland Quarter Final.

They're playing more games too at all levels, which is affording them more opportunities to underperform.

If we brought Galway back from leinster...... StopTheLights (Galway) - Posts: 408 - 26/05/2024 18:25:07 2547320 Link 1 |
Needed more than one sweeper I'm afraid, the spaces the Dubs were careering into between and through our feeble defensive lines all through that game, but particularly first half, when the Dubs playing against a strong wind, were clearly determined to expose our defensive weakness against runners. I often predicted that when McInerney retired from that Galway defense, teams would run through our defence like a dose of salts. That has transpired this season.

Minors were beaten by KK in April and May. Margins of 19pts and 15pts. Perhaps you're not following 'the form'.

It's easy to say now that Davy would have been a better appointment but absolutely no guarantee that would have been the case. In fact the likelihood is we would be in no better position in a post-Davy era than we are/will be in a post-Shefflin era. You must be forgetting the antagonism there was among supporters within the county when Davy looked like he might get the job. The best that could be said is that there was a feeling of despair that he might get the job , and much relief when it transpired that Shefflin got it instead. A manager who is on a sticky wicket with supporters from Day One of his appointment will almost always fail unless they bring immediate success and even Davy in this era of Limerick dominance would not have been winning trophies with us.
