Ridiculous. Not CB fault about Covid situation at club level. Let them put out a team or pull out. St Thomas through I'd say.

You can be sure there will be appeals all week.

Fixture row erupts in Galway over Gort Covid outbreak

The Galway SHC title race has been thrown into chaos after Gort pulled out of tomorrow's rescheduled semi-final against champions St Thomas'...

"Galway GAA CCC have reviewed all the evidence presented and have advised that the fixture stands. Failure to fulfil the fixture will be dealt with by Galway GAA CCC in the coming days."

They have appealed to supporters not to turn up at Kenny Park tomorrow and said refunds will be made during the week.

As a Gort person I am sick of all this and I'd have no problem just advancing St Thomas's straight to the Final to play Clarenbridge. Enough is enough.

We all know you're not a Gort man. You're more likely a Beagh man....the same man who caused disruption to last year's championship....the same man who supported Hillary Clinton in '16. Try to be a good neighbour to Gort hurling....even if based across the pond.

Perhaps, club might be treated differently, but a precedent was set this year with Tyrone senior football team! Why not accord the same opportunity and time frame to Gort?

Precedent is only set if the details are the same.

Accurate or not Tyrone claimed well over 15 players had C19.

Gort have 1 and 3 people with symptoms. If this is a basis for calling a game off we might never finish a championship.

I'm not sure how Gort can appeal when they're the ones who are not fielding in the fixture. What can they appeal against?

They can literally "appeal" to the county board to try and have the fixture pushed back, but by the book there'd be no rules broken by the CB if they award St. Thomas' the win. Unless Galway have a pretty unique rule whereby if teams have Covid cases the championship will wait for them.

Close but no cigar. I laughed at your needless Hillary reference. Anyway my general point is that the match has to be played sometime and if you can't field a team well then you can't field a team. I'd love to see Gort win it all as they came so close in the 80s. I'm a good neighbor no matter where my location I just posses a different opinion to you, that's all.

Another Club(won't name them) have a Covid case and asked CC for "their" match this Weekend (hurling) to be postponed for one week.
They were denied and told Game goes ahead!!!

Mistaken identity there anyway. The Beagh man you are referring to is on social media supporting the Gort case. Which is some cheek from him seeing as he didnt seem too interested in following the Covid protocols himself last year when he came over for a match.

The Masters of Tradition secure Senior status in Senior Relegation game Mullagh 2-17 Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry 1-12.
Mullagh are safe.
Tynagh-Abbey/Duniry v Ballindeeren Relegation Final.
Loser Relegated to Intermediate.

Mullagh, survive relegation from senior again!!! In Cork, Tipp, or Limk, Mullagh would equate to a low intermediate standard. "Tradition" (aka, bad standard of hurling) has managed to keep Mullagh up … for quite a few years now.

You obviously haven't seen much club hurling in those other counties you mention
