That's why counties have squads, they don't all need to be mollycoddled until they can put their best 15 out, maybe Mayo should seek a deferment until all their players are fit to play as well.

Any word out of Tyrone as to when the final is ?

Replying To Ulsterman:  "Mayo will be massive favourites for this. Tyrone will have their backs to the wall, will be castigated by the Southern media and socdlked pundits. Mayo will also have the backing of everyone outside Ulster and Derry and Armagh will probably support Mayo too."
Monaghan will support Mayo also

I'll be supporting Tyrone but if Mayo won I'd be very happy for them ending their long run of near misses. As another poster said on this forum I'd be very happy to see anyone except Kerry or Dublin win it for many years to come!!!

The more pertinent question is who will Meath or Dublin (Cavan) support, if anyone!

And you knew who would win in '21?

Are they still in the championship?

Heard the Tyrone lads all lost their boots and spares... taken from the bus apparently. Honestly, who'd come to Dublin?! They're going to appeal to Mayo to play the final bare foot. Only fair, I guess...

Meath fans will want a Mayo victory so they can put themselves on the same pedestal as them , and point towards giving Dublin a slight scare.

Dublin fans obviously would like to see a Mayo win giving they were the ones who kept knocking on the door , while the rest of the country were digging up financial conspiracy's theories and population ratio issues to mask their own shortcoming's.

The one thing in sport that is sure to cripple a team is complacency, scary how heavy it makes the legs. Mayo and Tyrone will take nothing for granted too much at stake now. Should be an interesting game for the neutral.

Hope Mayo win this one, they have so little to show for their wonderful contribution to the game, bit like my own county in hurling till recently, nothing against Tyrone but I believe the majority of the country would rejoice in a Mayo victory!

Watching the Kerry-Tyrone match on Saturday I felt that neither side would beat Mayo, especially with the tactics on display. I think it'll be interesting to see whether Mayo utilise a kicking game because I couldn't believe that Kerry kept running at Tyrone, it was madness to me. I also think Tyrone's kicking game was pretty poor and they got more joy when they played it through the hands. The opportunities were there for the kick pass in to McCurry etc but the quality of ball was very poor and they looked better played it through the hands I thought. They also rode their luck in some aspects and I can't quite believe Kerry didn't score a goal, Tyrone's defending was fantastic don't get me wrong however Kerry completely messed up a couple of opportunities. In some ways, with all the issues Tyrone have had this summer, it was just pure bloody-mindedness that got them through, not necessarily great football or tactics as they are definitely capable of much better than Saturday.

I would have Mayo as favourites based off their 2nd half performance against Dublin however as I said Tyrone can play much better than they showed in the semi-final. I think it's a fitting final as the first one without Dublin since 2014, these two sides have been among the most consistent in that time period without a doubt. I know Mayo have many years of hurt but people shouldn't underestimate the hurt within this Tyrone side, I know there have been a few occasions where they felt they left it behind them in Croke Park (the 2019 semi against Kerry is one in particular).

The match-ups will be fascinating. Will Paddy Durcan go on McGeary to try and nullify his influence? Keegan on Mattie Donnelly or McCurry? Will McShane or Canavan start for Tyrone? Great stuff I'm really looking forward to it.

It reminds me a little bit of 2012 in all honesty. Even see the same phrases on these pages, "novel pairing", "no fear of one another" etc etc. Best of luck to both sides I hope they bring their best performances on the day.

Why do people want Meath and Dublin views who they support?? Tbh I don't mind, had a good chat surrounded by Tyrone people on Sunday, a lot better representation of Tyrone supporters than some of their ambassadors (one in particular) on here. So good luck to them, Mayo obviously with their history of near misses who could begrudge them ??
I'll be a neutral observer hoping for a good game and may best team win.

Yeah, I think will happy for either team to win on this occasion. This notion that every one outside of Ulster wouldn't want to see Tyrone winning is a load of crap. I reckon most neutrals supported Tyrone on Saturday, I know I was.

And based on what we've seen to date the two teams look very well matched, tactics are going to be key to getting the upper hand. It's a very exciting looking game.

No I thought I knew, my pick was Kerry. The point I'm making is after this year there is no team jumping out at me on their own. Although my guess is you probably already knew this.

Think it'll come down to fitness, Mayo slight favs because of the longer break. Like the Kerry match , the closer it gets the more confident you become.
