Said I'd make one of these before someone beats me to it with a 'Mayo vs Dublin' thread tonight. Listen to any pundit or media outlet in Ireland and they'll have you believing that was Dublins next game. Sweetspot (Kildare) - Posts: 323 - 26/07/2021 18:57:48 2364412 Link 3 |
I think Kildare can take great heart from Meath and Wexford's performances against the Dubs. Not all is well in the Dublin camp at the moment and they are slipping back to the pack. I think the winning run will last one more game if I'm honest but Kildare do have a chance. Dubs in big transition and are there to be beaten by someone this year. How are Kildare on the injury front, heard people saying they might have some out for final in aftermath of Westmeath game?

Ah I'm not deluded about our chances. Very slim. And on the injury front, we've been dealt two huge loses in Eoin Doyle and Kevin Feeley. Sweetspot (Kildare) - Posts: 323 - 26/07/2021 20:27:49 2364459 Link 1 |

2 of our best guys in Doyle and Feely but Paul Cribbin is a big loss for this game especially. Just hope the lads give it absolutely everything , matter the score . St.Conleth (Kildare) - Posts: 1700 - 26/07/2021 20:31:13 2364462 Link 4 |
Feely and Doyle are out of game Cloon12 (Kildare) - Posts: 53 - 26/07/2021 20:49:05 2364469 Link 1 |
I doubt that. Dublin clubs would easily take 18,000.

I haven't been able to get any since lunchtime. Not for any of the pods either on ticketmaster or the GAA website. Send me a link if you don't mind please, I might get in that way.

Du6s were hot and cold against Meath and got a good scare from what was a very comfortable position. That's what they'll be looking at, why didnt they kick on and go so long without scoring after being 11pts up. It can happen sometimes with having a large lead, Meath are a capable side when they are in good form. On their day are capable of hurting any team. jimbodub (Dublin) - Posts: 20600 - 26/07/2021 21:21:47 2364480 Link 7 |
Feely is a huge loss, he is a fantastic midfielder.

Would the No kids tickets issue have anything to do with it.?

You're in a bad way when you start to use injuries as an excuse. Kildare are blighted with injuries too.

Come home with your shield or upon it. Reaching Division 1 and a Leinster Final is the best we could have hoped for at the start of the year. Go man to man and at least have a cut at them and see how the young lads get on. We've got this far without putting a 70 minute performance together at any stage this season, hard to see the first one coming on Sunday. Feely has played well against Dublin when we've met over the last few years and is a massive loss. Doyle has really steadied the full back line since swapping with Hyland so will be another big blow. Although Cribbin hasn't featured at all in the Championship we'll feel his loss here as we don't have much mobility around the middle - expect Luke Flynn or Fergal Conway to fit in for Feely (Hyland as a left field option perhaps with his pace and engine). Obviously our tendency to switch off for the last 15-20 minutes is a worry - coupled with Dublin's game management, experience and stronger bench they could really pull away in the final quarter. If we can be competitive up till then we'll have at least given it a go I suppose. if_in_doubt (Kildare) - Posts: 3685 - 26/07/2021 22:10:08 2364506 Link 1 |
Why is it shocking…. Why would anyone pay in to see a game that will more than likely be a turkey shoot…? Are people really that stupid…??

Indeed, it's been a funny build up to the game thus far. SallinsMan (Kildare) - Posts: 77 - 26/07/2021 22:28:50 2364516 Link 3 |
If Kildare were to get within 15 points they would need to have their best players fit and flying. Feely, Cribben, Doyle out and Hyland and Dan Flynn only getting back after hamstring injuries. Daith (Kildare) - Posts: 1171 - 26/07/2021 23:44:10 2364540 Link 1 |

Can't see anything other than a Dublin win here and will be backing the handicap of -9 especially with the injury trouble Kildare have at the moment. I watched the Kildare v Offaly game and if Offaly had a cutthroat edge to them up front they'd have taken a goal chance or two and could have snuck it even. Same goes for the Westmeath game too. Dublin are a massive step up to either of those teams. TrueBlue35 (Dublin) - Posts: 206 - 27/07/2021 08:25:53 2364562 Link 3 |
