In fairness it's hard for them to do anything on forums with free accounts. But it's gotten a lot worse this past few years.

A narrow lose won't be the end of the world. A short summer wouldn't be good though.

Looking Forward to this one.
Massive Massive opportunity for Galway with Cillian O'Connor out and the covid disruption in the Mayo camp. If Shane Walsh and Comer have good games Galway will win it. They will need to keep it tight at the back.
I know Galway have beaten Mayo on a few occasions in connaught over reccent years but in all them seasons it didn't count for much as Mayo went and outdone them in the All Ireland. When it mattered in the back door 2019 and Connaught final 2020 Mayo got the wins. Galway need to win this one IMO if they are to progress in future years, and they have a great great chance.

Really looking forward to this game, not much hype for it yet though, good weather has people occupied.
Galway will have to plan for Mayos pace and running game, they will have to start lads that are more athletic and with pace so Sweeney and Brannigan might come in. Cooke did well dropping back against Roscommon and good player to have on the ball. Conroy will mark O Shea but both will drop back. I dont know who Galway have to mark Ruane, I seen some say Tierney would take him and I would love to see that because he hasnt the pace to keep with Ruane. Kelly might take Tommy Conroy and Mulkerrins on O Donoghue and then Silke on the forward thats free to come out most likey McHale. I think they will go with a full forward line of Comer, Tierney and Kelly, direct ball into these lads will cause Mayo all sorts of problems.
Mayo have a lot of pace in the team and a great running game and if they can keep the scoring conversion rate high then will be hard stopped. if Conroy and O Donoghue are on form inside and are getting scores then I think Mayo have great chance of winning. Hopefully Keegan is fit to start and able to take Walsh, free up Durcan to attack at will, with Eoin Mcloughlin and Mullin attacking from the back also. Full back line is still suspect especially for high ball and Galway have players that can exploit it.
I think Mayo can have joy in pressing the Galway Kick out and Mayo will try to do this.

If team news emerged today that Mayo were missing several more players due to more Covid breaches for example then bookmakers would change the odds accordingly, or if a Limerick tax exile started backing one side heavily that would also have an affect the odds.
As a matter of fact the odds on Galway today are slightly different than they were yesterday.
If you follow horse racing, you will know that a horse that may be priced at 10/1 could be drought in to 5/1 or less before the race starts if lot of money is being placed on it.
It's all about trying to balance a sportsbook as much as possible.
They are in business to make money, not to be handing it out willy nilly, it's common sense.

And we are still short a player or two. If Brendan Harrison came back at some stage it would be a massive boost. We have a load of half backs plugging holes at corner back at half back. That's a massive worry.

Happy with that Galway team and delighted for half forward Sweeney to get the run out in Croke Park, superbly gifted footballer.
Glad this overall young Galway team will be in the heat of championship battle in Croke Park, it can only benefit us going forward. With all Ireland underage winners all over that team, its time to translate this into success at senior level. The talent is there.
May the best team win.
