Congrats lads. Savage performance. In 2014 when Kerry lost Colm Cooper to a season ending knee injury . All in Kerry thought oh no Sam this yr and of course Sam arrived home as the injury brought the squad together more as a team. Mayo losing Cillian O'Connor very similar. May the final be a cracker and may the best team win.

A brilliant win - well done Mayo! It was great to see lads like Tommy Conroy and Ryan O'Donoghue step up and lead the way. The subs all made fine contributions and it was great to see Robbie Hennelly redeem himself in Croke Park. Go and finish the job now - 31 counties will be rooting for ye!

Fair play for finally taking down the Dubs. A great second half and extra time performance - the fitness and desire shone. Finish the job now.

Few people unhappy nationwide with this result. Incredible spirit to return from a poor start to beat the Dubs. Brave correct decision to take off O'Shea. Really impressed with the MOTM and his speech on RTE. A true leader despite age. Bittersweet though as if Kerry win All Ireland old emotions will return. Hope Mullen is back for Final. Dare we say it as a neutral Mayo 4 SAM!!

Well done and congratulations to Mayo, a famous win, there'll be some sore heads in Mayo tomorrow morning, delighted for James Horan to finally beat Dublin, final still to play though so keep the heads.
We done this in 2014 and forgot to play the final it seemed,
Old Moore says Mayo are to win Sam this year, is he ever wrong?

Maith sibh! I could only describe that as a quintessential Mayo performance. Spirit, courage, attitude and skill in buckets. By no means perfect, but by God every player to a man laid it all on the line.

Fair dues, I didn't think ye had the forwards to knock Dublin off their perch but young O'Connor & O'Donoghue really stood up.

Enjoy the build up to another final. Still a lot of uncertainty about the other semi final but I'm sure Horan and Co will have ye well prepared no matter the opposition.

Best of luck in the final - thought ye were dead and buried at halftime…. 31 counties will be behind ye in the final … football really needed this result, football now needs Mayo to win … Kerry dominance will not be much better than the Dubs

Some comeback following the same versus Galway... bad for the heart but shows that this group of players have built on the character of the previous generation and are now forging their own identity. What exactly we're doing in the first halves with the zonal defending I'm not sure, but it might still be repeated in the final because in truth it was largely missed chances that had Mayo 6 down at half-time. Conor Lane's reputation was probably saved by Mayo winning the game in the end, since he got 90% of the crucial calls wrong in Dublin's favour and one compensating black card in extra-time in Mayo's favour also wrong. If Mayo had lost I don't think Mayo supporters would have been the only ones aggrieved... it would have fed the whole largely Leinster/Kerry conspiracy narrative that competing with the Dubs is like p**sing against the wind.

I ended up watching the game on RTE. Next time I can't be at it I'll pay for Sky via Now. Kevin McStay's neutrality effort was shameful and a sickener. Joanne Cantwell didn't even know what half was being played and accused Cora of bias when she brought up Conor Lane's wrong calls. The other two know better than to veer too far off the set narrative and whether Cora gets dropped for actually saying something people are thinking I won't be tuning in to find out.

As regards players, while there were mistakes galore, to a man they got stuck in and it's hard to pick one or two out so I agree with Padraig O'Hora, it was a team effort. I'll make one exception which is for young Enda Hession. His driving runs were what we were expecting from Oisin Mullin and I began to believe it was do-able when he started to hurt the Dubs.

Regarding Aidan, I've long had doubts about his tactical value since he tries to do things which are now beyond him but I was very pleased to see him in for those final hail Mary plays by Dublin... shows Horan has learned the lesson from the first game against Kerry in 2014. When I saw Aidan on the goal line with Hennelly I felt we were safe. He just wasn't right on the day though and when he reviews the game he'll probably understand why James Horan had to make the tough call. And James and co made a lot of very astute and decisive calls.

Great result, but nothing to cause sleepless nights in the Kingdom... can't see Tyrone overcoming their chaotic preparations even if they get a chance to play Kerry. Hopefully the injury situation improves... great to see Brendan Harrison back on the pitch even if just for a few mins.

Kerry will be clear enough favorites and rightly so... Mayo still have match their level, but at least the lads have the chance to do that.

Meant to also add thanks for the Dubs and other supporters for their good wishes. The Dublin team didn't limp out but died with their boots on which is what you expect of such great champions.

Heart felt congratulations from an outsider sincerely hope you go on and win it now. Can I just ask if anyone else thinks Aidan O Shea is living off a reputation now. Has he ever delivered on the big day for Mayo? Not having a go here and def not someone who knows a lot about football but has he ever played a leaders role in Croke park ? His performance yesterday was exceptionally poor

Wonder is there a timeline on mullens injury. GAA as a whole should see the best in the country playing at present and Mullen is there, god Id love to see o hora, keegan, hesion, fb line, durkin, Mullen and mcgloughlin (coen to go 6 and mullen on the wing if mcg isn't back, crazy suicide pass by the way only ever going to end one way) that is some unit blessed with pace and bite, looking like Kerry so yee will need a plan for all 6 but shea and Cliffords are what make them tick.

For the betterment of the sport please god let Mayo win yee have brought so much to so many for so long would love to see boyle lift sam
