No, I live near Archway, North London. I'm a life long Spurs supporter. My one and only visit to the Old Den was in the late 1960's.

It may be very popular around the world even though I must admit I have not been around most of the world so I cannot clarify your statement-maybe you have been!. It must be very big in China!-perhaps you could tell us all how many of their 1.5 billion play it there. The main reason it is popular is based on its simplicity- a two year old with no football skill can play it. You do not even have to be able to run to play it-they have a rule to slow the game down and it is called 'off-side'. A bit like 'Lanagans ball'- I stepped out again! I stepped in again- a rule in your 'beautiful game' is controlled by the linesman who runs faster and more often than most of the players.

Before I was born but was it Keith Weller or Derek Possee we signed from you that time? Both were still being talked about when I started going.

Think he means ethnic Indian subcontinent Englishmen or whatever the PC term for them is. Think it has more to do with cricket being more popular among that section of English society. But I'm not sure.

John Barbes was a naturalised Brit. They gave Zola a rushed passport so she could win them an Olympic medal. ....

People haven't been banned because of race or religion but as I listed in my comment there are countless incidents of rascist abuse and anti-foreigner comments in stadiums and recently on line and the English FA and Premier League has stood by and done nothing. By their actions or lack of action in this case their are complicit.

You said "Zola Bud ran for yous". The UK after my username denotes where I live, not my nationality. Were you born in Tyrone, UK? If so, she was running for you.

Hold on a minute. My original reply to you was about an anti soccer rant by you. I'm one of the many people who actually like soccer and GAA. For the record: 63% of Premier League players are foreign. 25% of Premier League players are black 25% of Premier League team captains players are black. Yes, both Weller and Possee started as apprentices at Spurs, but only played a handful of first team games before signing for Millwall at the same time in 1967.

You asked me whether or not anyone had ever been banned from playing soccer because of their faith or ethnicity, referring to the ban on protestants playing gaelic games, and insinuating that it is morally superior to gaelic games. I said historically many people have been pushed out of soccer , and if the gaa was a global sport like soccer is, with international transfer markets, , it would also be far more racially mixed,, and I'll bet that most of those black players you're referring to have been racially abused by soccer fans, and I'll bet that there are many countries all over the world, particularly in areas rife with conflict,as our nation was when this rule was passed, where lingering resentments have meant that people of certain faiths and ethnicities are banned from joining their local teams. I know that priests were not allowed play at one stage and played under assumed names.

When. Protestants have played hurling in Cork, Limerick and Wexford, at least, for generations. Ollie Honeyman and George Doughdale who won Connacht medals with Leitrim and Jack Boothman, a former President of Ireland, were all Protestants. Of course Parnell was a Patron of the GAA from day one. I never heard of any rule saying Protestants could not be in the GAA.
