Your Best GAA Related Memory From 2020

I think the fact that we got to see any GAA action at all in 2020 was a blessing considering just how disruptive this God damned pandemic has been. Credit to all involved both at club and county level.

For me it was fantastic to see club action from around the country live on TV every weekend. There were some super matches played and hopefully we'll see more of the same in 2021.

At county level, everything was going swimmingly for us until Cavan put an end to our gallop! I would really loved to have seen how we'd have coped against the Dubs but it wasn't to be.

All it would take is for the GAA and the Irish Government to pick their favourite county, pump millions upon millions into that county at all levels for 2 decades, let them play all their games at home, and make all counties and the taxpayer pay for the development, running and maintenance of that home stadium while telling us all what a one-off special group of players this is.

Sounds impossible, and very very unfair, but you never know."

And 8, 9, 10 etc. .

Imagine the absolute humiliation for any Dublin footballer who is associated with the next Dublin team to not win the all ireland.

Would be the equivalent of getting relegated from the SPL with Celtic.

If there were good teams in the SPL Celtic would be relegated. Every forum on here nearly always ends up slagging of Dublin, Cavan beat a Donegal side who had 1 eye on the game and 1 on Dublin and they think they're world beaters. Imagine the glory Dubs are enjoying now.

you don't sound sour at all. Are you mayhaps KingdomBoy dressed up as a Cavan supporter.

Best moments arguably looking back was getting to a league game and thinking roll on the summer.

Hurling
As a life long Waterford supporter and the son of a Waterford mother seeing them coming all the way back to beat Kilkenny in the all ireland semi final. Arguably the best half of hurling from any team this year with Jack Fagan, a giant of a Meath man, being a huge part of that turnaround. These group of payers have an all ireland in them if they can stay together, find a marquee forward and retain the services of Liam Cahill. They're about 4 players short but they're building a strong panel and Shane Bennett being back can only benefit them as he's a lethal goal getter which they lack.

Football
Without doubt Cavan winning the Ulster title and the sheer joy on my wifes face. Its been a long 23 years for them since 1997 but great to see them having their day in the sun. She'd nearly be more of a Meath supporter now (not that she'd admit it) but the unbridled joy on her face at the final whistle... you can't buy those kinds of memories

I think you might be getting us mixed up in Kerry, that's a theme down there, no medal and you don't count.

Yep that lolly sure is a handy footballer, lot of Cavan lads a little sour since getting beaten out the gate. I doubt you'll have to worry about that this season though.

How the Meath Final ended. Kells fans celebrating when Ratoath got a late goal from an impossible situation. Felt so sorry for Kells . They had time to get back for a point but were too shocked to play ball.

I'd back the Dublin footballers to beat the current Celtic team in a game of soccer :)

The seemless return of Conor McKenna to the Tyrone team in the league games against Donegal and Mayo. He was shackled somewhat in the championship game against Donegal but he gives us hope of improving next season.

Also the Tyrone SFC was superb. Drama right throughout with the Clarkes having a storybook ending.

Has to be the Bloody Sunday commemoration.

Some things transcend the game itself.

Tipp had a very bad year a few years back then won the All Ireland the next year. I think Wexford will rebound too. Galway might fall back a bit as they are bringing in young new talent but will eventually rebound after that.

Wicklow GAA actually running a decent championship , coupled with decent live streaming, and not a bad standard of football played.

I would actually fear Galway, Waterford and Clare, with a full team back,, more than Tipp this year.

I don't think Davey would stay there if he had a sense that lads weren't trying their best as it would be a waste of his time. They'll be fine.
