Ulster counties should not think Tyrone's win makes their province look strong

Fair play mead lad. Making an exhibition of yourself!

What does it say then? Who is the strongets? Leinster? take out Wexford (who have just had 12 good year BTW) and there's nobody. No disrespect to Wexford. They are a team in Leinster (as are Westmeath and Laois) that i would like to succeed

But waht would you say about a team that fell 20 points behind Limerick!!!

Would it be remiss of me to say thank God for partition, otherwise many people on this site would have nothing to argue about?

I thought the GAA was a 32 county organisation. What is all this stuff about North V South?

Sorry Veritas but I think you lost the mead lad as soon as you said "it's blatantly obvious..."

Hate to join in but....

Tyrone won the All Ireland, and are in the minor final. Derry won the league. An Antrim powered UUJ won the Sigerson, just as an Antrim powered QUB won it the year before. St Patrick's Dungannon won the colleges, and most importantly, to settle all arguments, Antrim won the Tommy Murphy Cup.

End off.

And don't forget St Gall's from Antrim won the Kilmacud Sevens.

Forget about Ulster, Antrim are dominating football, with a bit of help from Tyrone.

Good man patrique, you're quite knowledgable for a mid-50's oul lass.

Ulster have had a very strong year, it's true, but I think the reason a lot of people in The Republic were favouring a Kerry win (and there were many) was because of the triumphalism (?) being displayed by Tyrone people before and after the match.

Take for example many of the threads on this board alone - "Mickey Harte Greatest Manager Ever", "Ricey Best Corner Back Ever", "Dooher's Point Greatest Ever" and so forth. Statements like these are over-the-top and don't inspire love of any team. Makes it very hard to warm to any team, nordie or otherwise.

Also, realistically there are still 2 teams from every province that are capable of winning the All-Ireland and although Ulster is extremely competitive right now, there's still no more than 2 teams from up there that could win the AI - Tyrone and Armagh.

I don't think Tyrone supporters could give a toss about how their All-Ireland win makes Ulster look

I reckon some of them are only coming out of the hangover from the last few days anyway!!

Why is it so hard for some people to give Tyrone credit. You might not like their style (I don't like their goading or their injury feigning but I have tons of respect for them) but you got to give them credit where its due. They are THE BEST team in the country this year.

Well said Holymoly - they are the bset team this yeat & I think team of the decade now.

The reason I think people wont give them the credit & this can also be said by other Northern teams that won in the past is jealousy. Personally Im mad jealous when I see my own team couldn't get within 5 country miles of Kerry & they go out & do it for fun. realistically, would anyone here really care what type of football their county played if it meant they won 3 all-irelands in 6 years?Tyrone in the past were not regarded as been a powerhouse but theiir there now and derserve all the credit in the world for it

bad.monkey County: USA Posts: 181 108536 They are still the weakest hurling province We play no hurling up here sir! Kerry rule football and Killkenny lord it in hurling because they stick to the one code. If Cork wasn't in Munster then Kerry could send out their minors in their provincial football championship, no joke.

If it's all boiled down Munster football is the strongest in recent times. They have had 2 teams in the Semis a good few years now. I know you could argue that all the other teams are weak other than Limerick but Cork and Kerry have a great record and they seem to meet in the Semis and knock eachother out.
Ulster is next and you'd have to say on average the strongest. Hard to find a bad team in the Province. Down, Derry, Armagh, Donegal, Monaghan, Fermanagh and maybe even Cavan would have at least a 50/50 chance against any of the so called stronger teams in Leinster other than than Dublin. Don't believe that any of them are stronger than Kerry or Cork though. Suppose on this years form you could say Leinster had two teams stronger than any of the teams other than Tyrone in Ulster. Connaught only have Galway and Mayo, the latter has gone back in the past couple of years. Galway have the potential to beat the Dubs on their day but are behind Kerry, Cork and Tyrone.

1. Tyrone
2. Kerry
3. Cork
4. Dublin
5. Galway
6. Wexford
7. Armagh
8. Monaghan
9. Mayo
10. Derry

I don't see what was wrong with Tyrone's style of play this year. We scored on average 21 points per game since the Dublin game. I think it's a bit of a cheap accusation to make in 2008.

How can being happy about winning the sam maguire and rightly thinking that Ricey, Harte etc. ar5e great. The Tyrone posters have been very positive and not negative unlike sir Patrique, Ball-Bag and Rhode island or whatever he is etc.

Am i the only one getting bored of the "Ulster are rubbish" and "Ulster is the best" crap?
