I'd say lar wall and Kells would rather be Keegan cup champions then runners up
Don't you know any adult member is entitled to play for there club if selected
Brian Farrel did a brilliant job under the circumstances
1 replaced a Keegan winner and popular club man
2 came in won over a team that was devided
3 his first senior management job
4 a stop start training year
5 didn't know our club or most of our players
6 most importantly he won the Keegan on the first go
I for one am happy to see him back and hopefully we get a full uninterrupted training year and see where the cards fall"
Head4dbloackspot.........
BF repeated in 2020 what DB did in 2019. In fairness to Ratoath GAA DB had a group of good footballers to work with. So hats off to the under age coaches in Ratoath who developed these players. However up to 2019 Ratoath never contested a KC semi final. You need to park your anti DB bias and get real.

On the contrary
I am a big Davy Byrne fan and think he a good man and a great coach
I am just saying Brian Farrel did a great job in difficult circumstances and am glad he is reappointed as our club needs to move on now and get some continuity with a coach

Was there not a perfect opportunity to do that in 2019.

jez blackspot get a grip.....no issue at my end with rataoth, or BF or DB or anyone else for that matter , and maybe the post came across a bit flippant...but here is the serious question.....and this applys to the next topic of "what next for us" ...until the county, the clubs and club people stop looking in the short term to winning one competition or another ...we will never bridge the gap with Dublin...EVER....You say that BF delivered another Keegan Cup...at what price? …...how many guys numbered on that panel felt disrespected by what was done in brining back those two players . , its not as it Ratoath are struggling with numbers or have a lack of a panel...FFS they could tog out two senior teams...So what damage has been done to the long term of Ratoath GAA ….maybe none whatsoever, but when I mention Lar wall & Kells, again im not talking about Keegan Cups , im talking about a Coach & a panel of players who have maxed out year in year out with what resources they have over the 5-7 years, and its been an unbelievable achievement by the Group,
To my mind that Group of Kells Players & management are super achievers ...ratoath will have to win 5 to be the same
and good luck to ye if you do , then you will be great

How many guys on the panel felt disrespected?

Almost all of them, some afraid to say so, some not so afraid.

As for Ratoath Royal saying the faux outrage from some in bringing them back is hilarious....

Talk to the players then and ask them how funny they thought it all was.

It would appear in this case those who created the whole sorry mess believe the end justified the means......

So ratoath have to win 5 keegan cups to be as good as kells who have 0 in a row. Makes as much sense as your worries about how bad ratoath players felt.did not look too gutted at final whistle

seriously ash , there is a point in all of this, and maybe the 5 in a row thing is OTT, and said in jest , but if you can't see some of the logic around a debate of what should be the required levels that ratoath set for themselves given the resources at their disposal, well then, we have no chance at a county level to understand how we "move forward".

Marty Reilly & Co back in with Dunshaughlin. Me own club was looking for him , but he is sticking with his own lads. sleeping giant here, i think, what with minors, costelloe & mitchell. were unlucky last year to be in the position they found themselves in, but could be a dark horse for keegan cup in 2021 given the great progress that club seems to be making
reilly brought them to div 1 glory not so long ago & was main part of that great 3 in a row

You are being slightly optimistic there, seen Dunshaughlin 3 times this year and they were very very poor to be honest. Be a few years before they make significant progress i would think.

I would agree. Very big ask for the minor of team of this year to go straight into senior championship and compete for semi finals and finals. Can see it happening over the next 4 or 5 years alright but next year probably too soon.

You have a point. Ratoath have large amount of athletic players. If committee do not mess up they could potentually make a run in all ireland club championship to represent the county well .thus giving meath fans something to keep them going. Could do with support at admin level as experience of running a senior club is missing.

Amazing how interested everyone seems to be in Ratoath and how they think they need change! Senior county football champions - in the final of the senior hurling championship
Huge numbers at juvenile level - great facilities and I hear they have just acquired more land!
Thank god the place isn't being run right! The rest of us wouldn't have a hope!!

O'Rourke back in Simonstown after a few years away and has his old management team back in with him along with Padraig Farrell, who is well regarded. They will not be far away in 2021. probably won't enough to win it but will challenge again.

Caoimhin King taking the reigns in Drumbaragh. Bit of a surprise. Taking John Crimmins with him from Dunshaughlin as S&C coach. Be interesting to see how the 2 get on. I'm from a neighbouring club and I wish them well. I presume they are both hanging up the boots? They will be a loss for Dunshaughlin who need all the experience they can get
