You knew Limerick Clare wasn't a big game last night, when it got reported on the 9pm main evening news AFTER the 'Ladies' rugby. GAA is like the turf now........nearly finished!!

GAAGO and Munster TV is simply the GAA being greedy. I know people will say that GAA income goes to develepment grants throughout the GAA, but those days people at the top are not only being paid, but paid well, and that sort of thing gives them contempt for people at the bottom. They would want to think seriously about what they are doing. Greed is not a good trait, and harm generally results from it in the end.

And if you have not got a few spare quid, you just go without. Good attitude.

Replying To WanPintWin:  "He was referring to RTE Radio in his reference to the ladies rugby match, not tv. That was very much an RTE choice.
It's a very valid point. Radio 1 had live commentary of the rugby match for large amounts of the hurling.
The promotion of women's sport is very important, but this game was a complete dead rubber. A bit of editorial cop on would have had them cover the hurling match, and there would have still been love commentary of a good chunk of the rugby as it finished later."
Lads to be fair they would never hear the end of it if they didn't show the ladies rugby.

I think the docs are only available outside Ireland. But I got it for €59 at Christmas, for 38 live games plus catchups. Can't go wrong for that deal.

At least you have a choice unlike the TV licence.

Yeah but a repeat of the best GAA game from last yearis secondary to womens rugby, men's rugby fans don't even watch that or listen to it.

This is it. RTE can't play every GAA game. They now have even more highlights plus the live games. RTE aren't perfect but they are not anti Irish. Some of the best documentaries in recent years covering Irish culture and history have been made by RTE, the famine one narrated by Liam Neeson, the one on Irish music and dance and the very recent one on the Civil War. There's serious amount of mopery on here that would give the most reactionary and backward elements of loyalism a run for its money.

Missing out on the Leinster football semi final which sounds like a cracker. Gone to extra time. Hopfully we get at least 5 mins of highlights tonight but given the fall out between Micky harte and RTE its doubtful.

Interesting that 16 games over the weekend get 2 hours highlights tonight while the Leinster Rugby game gets 1 hour of highlights tomorrow on RTE2

Joe Brolly's thoughts on gaelic football and the Sunday game in today's Indo. It is worth a read.

RTE coverage has vary poor analysis and coverage over the week end was very poor. Like a well know paper everything is skewed to compliment the system. Facts are ignored many times. We cannot get the day to day facts correct so I do not know how the historical facts relating to a civil war can be above approach. We did not do to well with the facts in the Northern part of our country! Nobody on here ever said they should play every match or indeed 50%

Will check it out Supersub. His podcast with Dion Fanning, Free State, is a good listen to.

RTE will be looking for a licence fee increase. I hope GAA fans remember the fairly poor RTE coverage when this happens. Compare their treatment of the wooden spoon Irish ladies rugby team- who got loads and loads.

Fairly poor coverage? RTE broadcasted 7 hours of GAA action on Sunday, and they'll show 6.5 hours this coming Sunday.

More personal attacks and stories that never happened. The usual stuff from Brolly.

He's a broken record to be fair. That's why RTE got rid of him. Not sayin he didn't have a point about the state of the game but at some stage u have to move on.

Lots of his analysis was generic and lazy.

Even the guff about Lee Keegan tweeting an apology about man of the match ....... everyone knows Keegans tongue was firmly in his cheek. Brolly knows this too but choose to ignore it for his own agenda.
