Those Water Breaks

(Oldest Posts First)

One of the funnier things I thought was the stadium announcers giving it the holly at grounds with no one there.

I know, I can't see the point of the water breaks at all, hope it doesn't stay in the game, we are getting like American football with 4 quarters.

I assume that players can't share water bottles, which is why we still have these breaks. Correct me if I'm wrong? Otherwise I can't imagine that water breaks are needed because of the heat of an October evening.

Label bottles with names and use when needed - doesnt have to be rocket science for the GAA....

No need for the water breaks.

There is as otherwise you can have water carriers running onto pitch all thru the game to give players bottles and that isnt right at this time especially when numbers on sideline with teams should be limited right now
there is a need for the water breaks

Unlike the cards (soccer) or the marks (Aussie) and to a lesser extent lining up before big matches and walking down the line to shake hands.

These water breaks are going to be game changers in the Championship - wait and see.

Still dont agree with them but if Health & Safety dictate it, then so be it...

Well they worked fine in the club championships and we got used to them...it is what it is and everyone is in the same boat.

I'm not sure if I agree with that assessment...On a number of occasions, especially in the Tyrone championship where on any given day anyone could win over 60mins the water break ruins momentum for the team that's leading. Even Dungannon in the final failed to score in the opening 15mins and ended up winning on Pens

Well you need to have a break to allow people get water if you want. It doesnt necessarily stop momentum for team thats leading. Often team in lead can be revitalised by break and win by more than they would without the break.

dont like phrase 'new normal' but its going to be this way for a while so cant complain about it. sure a team could be dominating in first half and the half time break can halt their momentum..... do you get rid of that as well?
