Seems like the GAA are going to go straight knockout but retain the provincial championship which is a joke. Why would leinster teams even bother ?

Whats the chance of the club players getting the raw deal again and all club cships get cancelled and intercounty stays more or less as is? Nothing would shock me

Funny thing though is if by some miracle either Kildare or Meath beat Dublin in Leinster the gaa would change the rules midway so they'd get another chance.

theres only one way either of us are beating dublin in leinster, they enter their minor team into it. even then i wonder
Under the circumstances they could be caught in a 32 knockout, especially if you draw them at home. they certainly wont be as good as they usually are, so its up to others to take advantage, if any games are played at all.

Maybe because it's populist piffle.

More than likely.

Absolutely, sure sky will have to get their pound of flesh.

If we do get a short season it should be straight knockout for clubs too and teams will have to put up with playing games without county players

Really? I can't get my head around that. It would be a tiny gesture of thanks to health care workers who are currently being worked to the bone in extremely precarious conditions. All without adequate equipment and pay.

Where do you stop. Or why do you stop at health care workers? What about the staff working long hours for less pay than doctors and nurses on checkouts in busy supermarkets? What about the bin men? What about the civil servants in social welfare churning out 10 months of payments in the last 10 days? What about the lorry drivers bringing truckloads of essentials into the country from the diseased ravaged continent? There won't be room on the pitch.

Don't be facetious. While I am not diminishing the great efforts of the types of people you mention, it's not as though they're working closely with coronavirus victims on a daily basis like health care workers are.

Would only take 5 weeks to run.
Week1 last 32
Week 2 last 16
Week 3 last 8
Week 4 semi finals
Two week gap
Week 6 final"
If we do manage to get teams back on the field in 2020 I think this would be incredible.

I'd go with a seeded draw, Division 3/4 teams to play at home in the first round vs a Div 1/2 opponent.
