Replying To Douglas_44:  "Roscommon were beaten all over the field that day, can have no complaints. Harsh red for Harney but I think that was the linesman's call more than Goughs if I recall. Ros were way off the pace though, couldn't live with cavans running game."
They killed us on the breaking ball in that game, they simply wanted it more on the day. The main problem for us that day was our defending, as you wouldn't see junior club teams concede goals as soft as we conceded in the match. Cavan never built on that result losing their remaining league games and only scoring 0-9, 1-10, 1-8 in those games.

Replying To sourmilk93:  "Doubt it. Cavan will prob get slaughtered like they did in the majority of the previous 10 games. Doubt Cavan will have the support of David Gough again this year either"
We were stuffed that day
Second best everywhere.
In fact the scoreline should have been far worse.

Armagh a full 13 point winners away to Fermanagh tonight. Armagh v Roscommon a top of the table clash next Saturday where the winner will be promoted.

This should be a great game - strongest squads in the division but both very beatable if not at the races!

I jumped the gun a little on that post yesterday. I forgot Cavan are on 6 points so they could end up 10 and we could have a situation whereby 3 teams finish on 9 points and promotion is decided on scoring difference so next Saturday isn't a promotion decider but Sundays results could mean the winner gains promotion.

I got three out of four the last time out so this coming weekend I will go for:

Armagh v Roscommon...........................Armagh
Clare v Fermanagh................................Clare
Kildare v Cavan........................................Kildare
Westmeath v Laois.................................Westmeath

Armagh v Roscommon.......Roscommon, because Armagh have been inconsistent throughout and Rossies on the up.
Clare v Fermanagh..............Clare, Fermanagh going bad not going to change
Kildare v Cavan.....................Cavan, because they have really turned it around Kildare mediocre at the moment
Westmeath v Laois..............Draw, going to be a tight game

Armagh v Roscommon..................Roscommon(Hopefully) Cant go against us but going to be extremely difficult away from home.
Clare v Fermanagh.......................Clare. They were brutal against us but that seems to have been just an off day, Decent results elsewhere. We should have beaten Fermanagh had we not so many injuries at the time and shat ourselves second half.
Kildare v Cavan.....................Kildare think Kildare will win by a few here
Westmeath v Laois.................................Westmeath if westmeath can keep O'Carroll quite they will win by 3+

Armagh v Roscommon..................Armagh cause when they are good they are awesome and tails are up ,,,Rossies when they are good ..they are just good
Clare v Fermanagh.......................Fermanagh, well because we simply must win or else, and a team is most dangerous after they get a kickin like sat night, if we had beaten Armagh id have given us less of a chance
Kildare v Cavan.....................Cavan, as whatever JO'C is doing in Kildare its not working, and they were lucky to beat us on opening day
Westmeath v Laois.................................Westmeath as they are home and well we need the favour. A draw here and we are relegated with our awful scoring difference

When we get back to playing these games....

Armagh v Roscommon..................Armagh should win this easy. Roscommon are a Div 2 (or Div 3) team realistically.
Clare v Fermanagh.......................Clare to win by 2 or 3 points
Kildare v Cavan.....................Cavan. Kildare are the perennial under-achievers. With the size of the county they should be challenging the Dubs. Also, Meath seems to be the only other county in Leinster (and maybe Westmeath) who will really challenge the Dubs in the next decade
Westmeath v Laois….. Westmeath by a long way....

What is the point of predecting those games? It could be months before they play them, or could be void. And even if they were to play them in July, you don't know what way each team will be like, form, fitness etc.

Intriguing last weekend in this division for sure. Could be a kick of a ball between a team going up or going down. Hopefully my own Kildare can get the win and get the results elsewhere to pull off a miracle promotion

Nice prediction there Hoof hearted. Its a pity your boys hadn't the cojones to turn up this weekend. Hopefully ye can get 15 together this weekend coming.

A good result for us this weekend, We have the strongest panel we have had in a long time at the moment with no real injury concerns and the likes of the Murtaghs who had opted out of the panel earlier in the year back involved. Should confirm promotion next weekend.

Replying To Hoofhearted:  "My apologies, what I meant to say was that the Rossies chance of NOT being relegated was slight. If you look at the Odds of who is likely to be relegated and promoted from this Division, Roscommon are one of the favourites of being relegated. So, for me that would reinforce my view that they are on the way down rather than on the way up.

Cavan are definitely favourites for going up and Roscommon are favourites for going down. Div 3 probably is where Roscommon are at, with all of the injuries and lads leaving for different reasons Roscommon are still boxing above their weight. Division 3 is probably where they belong.

It would be great to see Westmeath getting promoted as I think they could compete at Div 1 for a few years."
Please never comment on Gaelic Football ever again, I have never seen a more stupid clueless comment. Roscommon have won 2 of the last 3 Connacht Senior titles, they have made the last 8 in the last 3 All-Ireland series, they have been a Division 1 side in 3 of the last 5 seasons, winning Division 2 in both of the other 2 seasons, reaching a Division 1 Semi-Final against Dublin a few seasons ago. They were favourites to go up & proved why that was so. Just say you dislike Roscommon & are jealous of their success & leave it at that.

You think Fermanagh will beat Laois?

I'd hope so, because we'll be relegated if we lose and Laois win!

I think Laois will have enough for them. But I fancy us to beat Roscommon.

I love watching Roscommon when they are playing Football especially on the TV. I've great admiration for this team and not just because Anthony Cunningham is a great Galway hurling man.

I think Roscommon will beat Cavan
Kildare to bt Westmeath which will open the door for Clare to be promoted as last two encounters with Armagh very close and both were away from home.If Gary Brennan and Jamie Malone played from the start of league nothing to say we wouldn't already be promoted.Nothing certain of course!
