You should probably direct this at the other poster who took issue with anyone agreeing with O'Shea's YPOTY award.

Richard Tyrrell of Westmeath was one of the most prominent allies of Red Hugh O'Donnell and Hugh O'Neill during the Nine Years' War, so there's a bit of a link for you.

I did take the time to mention, 'especially not people from their own county'. I've no real qualms with your own observations!

Didn't intend it to come across like I was having a go!

Thanks for that, greatpoint. It is, indeed, a great point. It's never too late to learn a bit of history.

I can't put it any simpler than this (and simplicity seems to be called for): O Shea: One YPOTY and one All-Star. Clifford: One YPOTY and two All-Stars. You are saying that based on the above O Shea is "definitely" the better player?? Just makes no sense to me. Aibrean (Kerry) - Posts: 263 - 04/11/2019 19:41:30 2247746 Link 0 |

No bother at all bud sure simplicity seems to come naturally to you. This is 2019 we're talking about remember like I've tried to get across to you already. You're suggesting that the more awards you have makes you the better player which is total nonsense but sure I don't think the penny is going to drop with you on this one. I found it interesting that Cluxton has a 20 mins spin to training gahfan (Wexford) - Posts: 636 - 05/11/2019 10:04:11 2247839 Link 2 |
Did he yeah? Didn't go a great job at it then or wasn't ably supported.

Well for him spend ages in preparation for training. Just another little advantage...

Are you suggesting he should move further away from his house to keep fools like you happy? You'd just find something else on your check list to moan about.

A big factor in Meath not winning any all stars is possibly the fact that they got beaten 4 times in the championship this year.

I don't think the real story is being told at all. It's all glitz and glamour and aren't the dublin players and management wonderful. gahfan (Wexford) - Posts: 636 - 05/11/2019 15:02:55 2247932 Link 3 |
You're right about them being wonderful, there is hope for you yet.

That's a good point as I remember reading that Jimmy mcguinness had to do a lot of fund raising by himself back in 2014.
