Guys stop giving the Kerry lads a bone of hope. With their whinging and moaning, they don't deserve it. We need to keep them down for as long as we can, or as long as another county can take the baton.lol Just a pity Mayo and in decline. All those players you mentioned, do not command a first team place. Jim Gavin has a young team that can dominate for years to come.

Cluxton will be the most high profile departure... but his potential replacement has already performed well in several games.

You guys are coming across very bad here with these type of comments. Very sore losers. Gonna be a long year for ye I know. Keep smiling because we definitely will, and the more it annoys you the more fuel we will add to the fire. lol FIVE IN A ROW...! Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 19/09/2019 10:29:19 2237480 Link 1 |
I suggest you grow up and just enjoy and treasure your great county making history besides getting involved in silly online arguing.

Temper temper. But thanks - I will enjoy and treasure our achievement however Kerry folk try to demean it. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 19/09/2019 12:12:05 2237511 Link 1 |
In fairness to you , you seem like a fairly straight and honest fella. I think if a few more of your countymen were as adult as yourself it would paint Kerry in a better light. Some of those boys are fierce whingers though and I do love sowing it into them. Haha, ''tis great aul crack all the same. I don't think a lot of them have a whole pile to be doing with themselves. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 19/09/2019 12:19:27 2237513 Link 2 |
Ha Ha "". What he is saying is not alone have Kerry won the most finals, but they have lost the most, which means they even qualified for proportionally more finals. My county won two All Ireland Finals in Football, but they have not appeared in a Final since 1896. Now there is a record not to be jealous of.

The one thing this Dublin team haven't done is hammered anyone in an All Ireland final to date. They've shown immense grit in the closing stages of finals to win by a point in many of them. Great winning mentality. slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 19/09/2019 15:46:51 2237595 Link 0 |
Oh, I know what that lad is getting at. Sure the most of the hoors are pure furious at the minute. They can't stomach it all at all. That's a fair achievement alright,1896 ha. The Kerry lads will find a way to tell you that's no big deal ,sure they know someone who never won nothing. catch22 (USA) - Posts: 2148 - 19/09/2019 15:56:36 2237600 Link 4 |
I didn't enjoy it much at the time but to be honest it made them all the sweeter in hindsight and showed the real character these guys have.

I'd honestly hate to absolutely hammer anyone in a final to be honest, though we've won the last two by six points and pulling up. So depends on your definition of a convincing win and a hammering. Absolutely embarrassing another team I think isn't what this Dublin team would be about, in fact the opposite, I think we prefer to drop a gear rather then humiliate, it's not our way. Exactly what has happened in the last 2 finals. Jim is all about game control rather than humiliating a team. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3684 - 19/09/2019 17:21:37 2237628 Link 1 |
IMO Cluxton is the only Dublin player that is irreplaceable. Still a fantastic side and crazy depth in all positions but when Cluxton goes we will definitely notice.

Open up to who exactly? There's a good chance Kerry can push on and these young guys can challenge Dublin over the next 5-7 years. That's off the back of the best minor teams the game has even seen. But that won't be the competition opening up - it will be 2 way out in front instead of the current 1. And then Kerry's cycle will restart, as it did in the 80s/90s, as it did in the early 10s, etc. But Dublin are never going away. I don't think we'll see a situation in the next 50 years, if the current investment and favouritism trends continue, where Dublin are not in the top 2 teams in the country. There just might be the odd special team from elsewhere who can match them for a few seasons, if we're lucky. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 4978 - 23/09/2019 10:43:42 2238452 Link 2 |
