Congratulations to Corofin, great champions but as a neutral I think it important to highlight the false "northern tactics" agenda on here this evening. Corofin do what a lot of great champions do which is be cynical and I thought the ref was soft with them today but throwing yellow cards towards Kilcoo players when a few of their tackles went wrong a lot easier."
Nothing disciplined about the tackle on Dylan Wall.

You obviously do not watch much football making comments like that- take of the blinkers. I do agree with you about McGuiness though (he was clever enough to move on), however all counties have tried that silly nonsense including your own. A lot of slow learners managing county teams, many now beginning to realise that you have to be able to score to win matches and have midfielders and defenders who are able to make good decisions with accuracy (Dublin being an exception).

Negative, defensive football is terrible but it can be justified a little. Diving and feigning injury though can never be justified and there was far too much of that in yesterdays game. For that reason I thought yesterday's football final was the worst club final iv seen. Surely most decent people would be embarrassed by it and make sure it doesn't go on in their club but it seems in some areas its perfectly accepted. When Tiernan McCann got all that abuse a few years back it was justified but neither he nor Tyrone have been involved in anything similar since, others though seem to be happy to stay throwing themselves to the ground year after year.
The hurling final on the other hand was a fine game with some great scores and great sportsmanship. Well done to Ballyhale, a brilliant club.

There was a few Kilcoo tackles that went wrong as happens in games and the ref dealt with them. Reading comments here and coverage this morning thankfully tactics and antics from both teams have been highlighted which is only fair and balanced. It doesn't stop Corofin being All Ireland Champions but it does stop the agenda some tried to protray of "northern tactics" and making Corofin out to be the good guys against the dark arts of the game.

Kilcoo played poor football. Got bored watching it will all the handpassing and Kilcoo packing the defence.

Worthy champions can only beat what is put in front of them

3 in a row - well done

One thing I can't stand is diving and I seen a fair bit of it from Corofin yesterday, disappointed for KIlcoo they put in a mighty effort, if they hadn't had the man sent off they were on course to win it, the first yellow that man was given was a dive by the Corofin lad, sad to see this in Gaelic football, and both teams were using blanket defences, so stop all this anti Ulster crap.

Which Corofin player dived?
Which club player had to leave the field through injury?
Who got his jersey torn to shreds?
Which team got double the frees and got the last free moved 25 yards closer to goal?
Should I go on?

I would not class this as a dirty game by any means. Most of the tackles were honest attempts to win the ball. Wall, being on a yellow should have been a bit more careful in his tackling (something that's easy to say when you are not involved in the heat of battle) but the ref had let him off with one careless tackle before his clumsy tackle that got him his second yellow. Both Wall and Farragher accepted their cards without any of the usual 'mouthing', which is not easy to do in such an important game.
However, there was one tackle that I felt deserved a red card - a shoulder tackle to an opponent's head which could have caused a serious injury.

No you shouldn't go on. The reason kilcoo got double the frees was because corofin persistently fouled and went unpunished regarding 2nd yellows and getting the line like David Gough did to johnny cooper which was brilliant refereeing. Corofin did deserve to win thanks to thier et display but please dont be so biased by saying they did not dive because they were at it all day long e.g the 1st yellow for the kilcoo lad that was sent off!
Unfortunatly it has crept into the game all counties are now guilty of it also!

Apart from making a mistake with Dylan Wards first yellow card he gave everything to Kilcoo.

Corofin went over 20 minutes in the first half without a free when they should have had a few scoreable free. Sice was blegarded from start to finish and did anyone see the state of Fitzy's shirt? How about the equalising free been brought forward over 25 metres and then there's the free Laverty won at the start of the 2nd half in front of the posts when he was dispossessed brilliantly.

Only a few of the Corofin's players acted the magget in the last few minutes but we've all seen what a great team they've been the last 5 years when a football match has broken out, unfortunately Kilcoo got a bit of their own medicine in the last few minutes yet you'd swear Corofin were the instigators with the dark arts. I've got no issues with the way Kilcoo played but please lets put a bit of perspective on what went on.

Eamon McGee twitter: Enjoyed that final, two ballsy teams. Corofin show there is no room for nice guys at the top table in Gaelic football.

Double the frees because of double the amount of fouling going on by Corofin ... go figure
