God that '87 final was a terrible match, best ticket I ever had for a final though. Always loved the Nicky English story about the '88 final. Near end of the match ,free into Tipp. Nicky asked ref how long was left, Sylvie aparently cut in and said "12 months".

Looking at Tipp hurling championship results from yesterday, Thurles Sars were beaten by Drombane-Upperchurch in the senior championship in early afternoon at the Ragg. 2 hours later they were beaten by JK Brackens in the same competition at the same venue. Reliably informed by Tipp lads at work (called down to their section & they had the flasks out, tin foil opened, talking about fixing old ford cortinas) that they have an A & B team, B team won the division below last year. slayer (Limerick) - Posts: 6480 - 16/09/2019 13:43:11 2236085 Link 0 |
Must say i am very surprised Richie Hogan's appeal failed. Since when are you not allowed line a fella up and deliberately drop the elbow to make sure you make contact with his head? sourmilk93 (Roscommon) - Posts: 1206 - 06/11/2019 15:26:10 2248134 Link 1 |
Ah its embarrassing stuff alright. Talk about sour grapes and it gives us an easy motivational tool for our next game against Kilkenny when we are usually vulnerable.

Yet again, no contact was made with the elbow on Barrett and stating that Hogan deliberately wanted to strike Hogan's head is at best pure conjecture and at worst malicious ignorance

your are either blind or deluded due to been biased. Absolutely laughable this was appealed. Such a bunch of bad losers that when is blatantly obvious to everyone outside of Kilkenny it was a red they refuse to accept it. You need to watch it again as there was most definitely contact made with the elbow and it looks fairly deliberate if he didnt drop it he wouldnt have made contact.

Agreed. As a Kilkenny man I'm embarrassed and annoyed at Hogan pursuing this. Needs to get over it.

It may take up to 20 years.
