Replying To Condorman:  "Correct. Crazy system, last Sunday was Kilkenny's 7th game but it was Galway's 1st.
Daft.
If Galway seniors and U20s are in Leinster why aren't their minors?"
Yes indeed. When Galway joined Munster in the late fifties all grades of county hurling were taken in.

Replying To suckvalleypaddy:  "the current format is madness, teams who lose provinces have massive advantage. Galway should be in Leinster for starters to level the playing field like the seniors."
Those Easterners would be cribbing then because Galway would be dominating their Province at under age

They should be. I don't see why not.

Last year you only won the Leinster u21 final with a hail mary hopeful goal right at the death after being outplayed for large chunks of the game. Hardly the underage domination of which you speak.....

I agree too. It would be good for their lads development to be playing more meaningful hard games. And our lads would surely learn things from taking on them too....

Do you remember the performance of the officials on this night? I'm going to matches a long time and I had never seen the likes of it before. We were better than the winning score suggested.

For some reason all of the Leinster counties bar Kilkenny were against Galway going 'properly' into Leinster, as they felt that they are too strong at underage level. So while there might be some validity to that point, it's still a pathetic reason to stop them entering Leinster, especially when one considers that it's not a knockout anymore in the Provincial championship until the round robin is complete.

I don't think any normal thinking Galway fan will come on here claiming that Galway are going to dominate at any level. Yes our underage record is phenomenal particularly at Minor level, but we haven't won at U-21 since 2011, so certainly no domination there. Also don't pay any heed to Katser, he/she is a wind up merchant!!

U 21/ U 20 is adult level I'm talking underage Minor/U17. Sure we field 3 County U 16 teams in the old Nenagh Co-Op all Ireland U 16 tournament as they used to call it in my day. And for the last few years 2 Galway teams would contest the final. I'll say it again 3 County U16 teams!!!

Does Under U 14, U 15, U 16 mean that much. Cork have won the All Ireland in all three of those competitions in the past years, yet their U17 team could not beat Clare or Limerick in Munster this year and went out before the Munster Final.

There are no Provincial Championships for U14,U15 or U16 just Minor!! KK was the only County who didn't object to us coming into Leinster and yes they should let our Minors in too!

For Galway to retain the title they have to beat both Munster and Leinster Champs and runners-up...who agreed to this? Clare can lose twice and still win it, KK have been beaten twice and are still in it.....Galway are to blame for accepting this radically unfair arrangement. Either put Galway into a province or don't play them at all. Outrageous by the GAA to allow it.

Silly format I agree. Maybe an open draw at underage might be the best solution? 2 x groups of 6, whatever.....I won't hold my breath though.
