Kerry men deny climate change and Dubs deny finances and resources improve success. Two peas in a pod. Sponsored by the GREEN GIANT, the official vedge supplier of dublin GAA.

Mayo v Donegal was a tough tussle. Meath gave Kerry a good game.

Tomás Ó Sé asked a question and wrote two interesting points in a recent article:
1. Isn't it a great pity that GAA people asking questions about the advantages coming the way of Jim Gavin and his boys are branded, almost on reflex, "anti-Dublin"?
2. I welcomed 'Pillar' Caffrey entering the debate about Dublin's two home games in the Super 8s (something nobody else gets), specifically his comment that "anyone saying it isn't an advantage isn't telling the truth".
3. This might sound a perverse thing to say, but dump Dublin out of the equation and this would be some championship.

Tomas wrote two interesting points. Who wrote the third one?

Tomas also said the following in that article...

"Trust me, you could throw money at any team you like and it wouldn't bring a guarantee of success. That point seems to get overlooked in every conversation about the Dubs."

Re: #3

It would be 'some championship' alright. It would be a second rate one though without the best team of the last decade. It would be second rate if any of the leading sides were removed. Would you like that? Is that the height of aspiration you have now? If you can't win, whinge it seems.

Brolly describes Dublin as using some form of Zen Buddhism. If you can understand that Dublin winning All-Irelands with home advantage does not earn the same respect of rural counties who earn them the hard way, all's calm and there is not much else to say.

The 2019 Munster Football Championship was won without a home game. Have you known your team to win a provincial championship without a home game? ;)

The hard way like Kerry in 1980? 3 games to win an AI. Shocking. Dublin had to win 8 games last year in an era where skill, athleticism and strategy have never been greater. Real titles, won the right way.

Not sure they're bothered what rural counties think. Just like Kerry shouldn't be bothered by what people think about them and how they won some of their titles. It matters not but what's in the history books.

Well I suppose you're right. There's a few people with long memories who remember Kerry winning a few the easy way....
Anyway, few give a fiddler's for the incessant ramblings of cranks like yourself who simply can't cope with the fact that your county's pre-eminence has been eroded, never to return. Get over it and admire the power, athleticism and natural ability of this team. A new order has evolved...the 37 will be surpassed and Kerry PLC will fade into the mists....it's you're worst nightmare isn't legend ???
Now everybody take it easy on that poor old mouse as you go to click on that red thumb...:-).

Ah well said. Us Dubs need to remember the bad days. No one had respect for us then either. This is a special time for all Dubs fans to savour, but particularly those of us of a certain vintage. Its what we think that matters, not whether 'cranks' as you so well put it, have 'respect'. If they can't see the baseline point - that of a uniquely skilled, talented, hardworking group of players then their 'respect' is unwanted.

The bad days before the funding model changed and when Croke park wasn't designated your home venue.
Most GAA people appreciate the skills Dublin display and the manner they play the game but it is possible to seperate the two.

The results and trophy cabinet will tell the tale at the end of the day. No 3 game Sam Maguires for this team that's for sure. Real GAA people recognise great teams and great players and that's all they are, players. But they are good, very good.

How come the Kerry team of the 70s and 80s had no problem travelling up to Croker to give us our annual spanking? Ye loved Croke Park then....

Annual spanking? What are you talking about? Kerry and Dublin played eachother five times, Kerry won three and Dublin two. Played two times in the 80's Kerry won both but no ''spankings'' as you claim....

Still love it now.
Wasnt designated your home then for every single game bar OByrne cup games.
The GAA was a fairer organisation when it wasnt driven by money, TV rights etc.
The games before the funding changed was on a level playing field.
