(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

We'll have to get this thread back on topic. We have 4 State Aid Free qualifiers this weekend. Who are going to qualify for the State Aid Free group and who are going to qualify for State Aid's group?

I was in portlaois for that double header and the next Leinster final, only for the dubs supporters the place would have been empty on both occasions

If Louth hosted Dublin, do you think more Louth people will have gone to the game?

I think Mayo and Meath will make the state aid free group and Cork and Tyrone will make the state aid group.

Replying To Joxer:  "Now now. We all drove down to Portlaoise for Round 1 of the LSFC to play Louth. We are forever being denied the opportunity to play in our home ground at Donnycarney. Only our hurlers and ladies have the privilege these days and look what the white hot atmosphere of the Neller did for them at the Neller. A special venue and hopefully we'll get back home at some point in the future."
You're not being denied. Your county board just can't be arsed developing a 35/40k stadium because the government and the GAA built you a nice big one you use instead.

Sure you'd be giving out if HQ gave us money to develop our own stadium. How's that centre of excellence coming on anyway? Not bearing much fruit judging by your last outing to our home ground. :)

Indeed. Meath you are not.

Ye did however manage a big 5 points on an even bigger day, a semi-final, as recent as 2001. As defending champions. And, against Meath too.

As it currently stands

NFL Dub 1 2019 Champs - Mayo
NHL Champs 2019 - Limerick
All Ireland Senior Hurling Champs - Limerick
All Ireland Senior Football Champs - Dublin
All Ireland U20 Football Champs - Kildare
All Ireland U21 Hurling Champs - Tipperary
All Ireland Minor Football Champs - Kerry
All Ireland Minor Hurling Champs - Galway

Good healthy spread of titles to 7 counties with Limerick being the standout success.

Munster own 4 of the available National titles and are the standout province.

That's a very healthy spread of All Ireland's isn't it.

The best players can be found across that spread.

The day will soon come when Dublin won't be in the list above, just like the other counties will chop and change as other counties with better players win the same titles.

The level of hysteria about one specific form of the game will soon become very embarrassing for plenty of people.

They will look back and ask why was a province participating in the inter-county championship?

They truly won't.

Now go easy on the embarrassing hysterics you've been really putting in some effort.
