Yes that's basically it. A bad hurling game is still better than a good football one. And television viewership is way higher because the hurling counties are all big population centres...unlike your own dot on the map.

No, a bad hurling game is just that, nonsence to claim otherwise.

We'll see how the viewing figures are if the hurling continues to stink out the place like it has been doing this past month. Nice cheap shot about population too, fair play to ya

The tripe we saw in Wexford last week or in Waterford today was not better than the Longford v Kildare drawn match last weekend in my opinion, so I don't agree that a bad hurling match is still better than a good football one.

Football has been the better Championship so far, another cracking game in Clones today.

agree football has been great this year.
but you can't be going around saying things like "theres no game in the world like football"......only hurling people are allowed say things like that

No point telling the hurling snobs that. Their whack the ball as far as you can with no accuracy and repeat and repeat has been riveting this year.

You can't say a bad word about hurling, did everyone not realise know that?

Thank you for proving my point! Two games shown live, one a 20 point win and the other 13. Whilst football had a draw after extra time. Football hasn't even got to their finals/super 8's yet. Great to have a good football year hopefully this will impact RTE going forward. Hurling has been brutal!

RTE are saturating the schedule with too many hurling matches just like they did with the football for years, familiarity breeds contempt. Should be one of each every week. Keep both sides happy. Or have football shown on a Saturday and hurling on a Sunday and vice versa

It's as if theres a choice. If we are making comparisons...being a good footballer is like being good at Pool. Being a good hurler is like being a good snooker player.

In fairness both of those hurling games today would have been expected to be much closer and they were played in the two smallest grounds in Munster so I can understand the rational in showing them, the football has had some surprises and some closer than expected games but a fair few wipe outs too, it's hard to get the balance right although they could have arranged showing Cavan/Armagh online or something like that.

Remember two of the teams on show to day won Supreme Honours in the past three years and over the decades have enchanted hundreds of thousands with the skill, athleticism, artisty and courage. When have Cavan or Armagh won anything

The coverage is about 50/50 now, why do football fans think you should get the majority coverage, they'll be more football when super 8s come around so stop crying
