We need to do something to raise the standard of Cavan football Here is my suggestions and firsyt of all these are untried and a s such untested. But before anyone shoots them down offer a better way forward. Tier 1 Let the Senior Championship be based on the top 6 teams in the Senior league Round robin each play each other and top two teams come out as winners Tier 2 Let the next 6 teams be made up of Regional / Divisional teams or call them what you like amalgamated teams Tier 2 has a round robin each team plays each other top two teams come out on top. You now have the best 4 teams in the County Bottom team from Tier 2 plays top team Tier 1 and Top team tier 2 [plays bottom team Tier one in semi final. Final is then played Any Senior player that has not played senior football in Tier 2 can play intermediate football tomsmith (Cavan) - Posts: 3284 - 26/04/2019 10:59:39 2180347 Link 0 |

You won't raise the standard of football in any county until you get u14s out of the gym and concentrating on the skills of the game. Practice practice practice. Inaroundehouse (Cavan) - Posts: 975 - 26/04/2019 14:33:19 2180410 Link 0 |
Inaround the House Tomsmith here These games could be played in April, under lights. You could play them before the league. And when you look at the threshing that the Gaels hand out in the league you dont learn much from these games tomsmith (Cavan) - Posts: 3284 - 12/05/2019 20:47:04 2183393 Link 0 |

Doratheerxplorer Tomsmith here You are right this time ( you do be wrong many times) that the trashing that the Gaels hand out is like steam trashing. tomsmith (Cavan) - Posts: 3284 - 20/07/2019 15:18:08 2213543 Link 0 |
Indeed, steam threshing can be done in the summer but is useless when the autumn rolls in.
