He'll be 22/23. He was in his last year of the 21's in 2017.

Given the length of the injury list Galway should skip the Friday night friendlies, they are daft. KW will just have to blood new lads.

I would know from my many years of experience of watching, playing and coaching the game. Many good quality club defenders have never made the stepped up to county level. My point is simple, allow the lad to first establish himself as a county footballer before hyping him up.

Replying To The_analyser:  "How can Dylan Wall be one of Galways best defenders when he has barely played for the county team? M Daly didn't look injured Sunday more tactical switch and Heaney played the full game. One guy that did go off injured was Kyne and it looked more of a impact injury.

12 to 14 of the 20 players that featured in that AI semi final could be involved this Sunday. You don't have the absent or injury list that we do as we'll probably only field 4 of our championship starting team on Saturday night but we are getting on with it while we have a far stronger fixture on paper and our manager isn't telling the national media about some crisis."
Michael Daly was a tactical switch... but yet couldn't start for NUIG on Wednesday night after been named to start at centre forward... Heaney was helped off the pitched after the match after a heavy blow... Barry McHugh likewise was treated by the medical team after the match... and there is a difference between missing players and missing the likes of Comer and Ian Burke. How many All Stars are Roscommon missing?

All stars nowadays are given to teams that reaches the AI semi finals at the very least. Galway winning their first this year since Kevin Walsh is proof of that. We'll see how many injuries Galway have come Sunday an educated guess will say that up to 10 Galway championship starters will be playing and Cavan who are saying nothing will likely be missing more players.

3. Seán Andy Ó Ceallaigh
4. David Wynne
5. Gary O'Donnell

7. Seán Kelly
8. Thomas Flynn
9. Ciaran Duggan
10. Fintan Cooney
11. Johnny Duane

13. Danny Cummins
14. Eoin Finnerty
15. Shane Walsh

We are trying to phase out using forwards at all apparently. Walsh and Cummins need to perform well. Kelly and Heaney need to find their form. We need someone to kick the ball over the bar. I do expect Cooke to start though. Tough task but Galway can do it . Cavan will fancy their chances

Disagree with this. If the team announced by KW for tomorrow is the team that lines out come Summer only 6 or 7 max of those will start. Between injuries, Singerson and Corofin the number unavailable greater than the number available.

9 IMO and i don't expect that Galway team to start tomorrow either. Cavan last summer ran All Ireland finalist Tyrone to one score, only 6 or 7 of that Cavan starting team is named to start v Galway on Sunday but like i said already with less of pick than Galway they aren't singing and song and dancing about players that are missing.

In fairness most Galway football folk don't spend time 'singing and dancing' about it as you call it. Granted all counties have injuries and defections for one reason or another but our is case is exceptional particularly when you see the team that is due to line out tomorrow or close to it is weaker than the fbd game against Mayo which was a game of little significance in comparison.

We can do it . 8 of that team will more than likely start come championship unless (and hopefully ) kw unearths some new talent . Depleted in the forwards but we'll have much harder tasks than Cavan at home . Injuries happen we have to deal with it

So after all the talk about injuries Galway started today with arguably 11 championship starters. Crisis what crisis?

Shane Walsh a joy to watch. What a baller. Serious poise and balance. Ref very poor. Apologies to harp on about it but not helped by his functionless umpires. We suffered most. Missed a few goal opps. Cavan better in first half than second. Win is a win though.

Good performance by Galway after a slow start. Gave up 3 soft scores at the end to make it look a bit nicer on Cavan but it was a comfortable enough 2nd half with Cavan losing discipline. Sin bins were punished by Galway whereas Cavan didn't do any damage when McDaid was off at the start of the 2nd half. Galligan brilliant in goals, stopped 2 goals and plucked a Shane Walsh free from over the crossbar.

I think Ian Burke only got 1 point but he's an absolute joy to watch. Involved in every move. Great to see Corofin lads involved at this stage of the year too.

Yes but those 5 lads that came in included 2 Corofin players and Cooke whose playing Sigerson midweek. McDaid was carrying a knock and Cunningham won't start come championship. If we had the chance, none of them would have played.
