I don't want to spoil the party but the President is actually a Carlow man so that should take some of the pressure off, Cian O'Neill actually gave him the credit for solving the "Newbridge or Nowhere." Saga, wouldn't that bring music to anyone's ears. He's not a wet day in the job and he's performed one miracle, now working on another.

It's only good for finals realdub, the rest of the time I'd rather be in any other provincial grounds, away better atmosphere outside of crokepark.

President is from Dublin. Director General from Carlow. I know it sounds like a Micheail O Muireachtaigh line! LaLu (Louth) - Posts: 237 - 02/07/2018 23:07:33 2117953 Link 0 |
Don't want to rain on your parade either but Tom Ryan isn't the President of the GAA. He is director of finance. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2313 - 03/07/2018 07:56:32 2117987 Link 0 |
Think you're thinking of Jim Bolger from Carlow who is Leinster GAA Chairman. GAA President is John Horan from the Na Fianna club in Dublin.

What was big about it? He's the President of the GAA. It's his job to deal with GAA matters.

Ah I know what you mean, just yanking your chain. I like the look of Kerry this year, you'll be close at least!

Thanks realdub but we've played no one of note yet, hopefully we'll know more in a few weeks after the Galway game, Galway gave us a fine dusting in Tralee in the league but that was just the league and this is the game to win if we can. If not we'll be heading to clones looking for a win.

Fair play to him .It would be easy to hide and say nothing and just eat the free lunches Ashrules (Dublin) - Posts: 572 - 03/07/2018 15:10:30 2118112 Link 0 |
Jim Bolger, I had completely forgotten about him, are you sure there is no Carlow connection between the GAA President and Carlow, if not, hope it doesn't slow down Carlow rising and all that, if it does we'll never play on the moon.

Looking at your group, I'd fear Monaghan as much and possibly more than Galway. But I agree with Brolly that your forwards have the makings of something special and he also said the new pace in your wing back positions rival Jack McCaffrey. If you don't sneak it this year I'd wager ye will within the next 2 years. realdub (Dublin) - Posts: 8748 - 04/07/2018 22:02:45 2118665 Link 0 |

Ya Monaghan away will be seriously tough and that's why it'l be so important to get some kind of a result against Galway even a draw would be good and then try and win our home game against Kildare, It's going to be a tough group and a baptism of fire for these young Kerry bucks but if they can get through it then they'll be well set up for a semifinal clash v yer selves.
