County Finals and All Britain Draw

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

I agree with Bob for once- JM to win easily. Wilferal must be playing the old psychology game, talking up the opposition. He's spent most of the season telling us how bad the rest of Lancashire is.
Quality of London is hard to predict- Fulham Irish very good 2006, McCurtains very poor 2007. I'd still fancy JM over the London champs.
DC were within the kick of ball of beating JM last year- and must be chomping at the bit again!!
There's 2 conflicting draw formats given- does anyone know the correct draw??

no psychology games my good friend just goin by how much oisins have improved over the last month and the quantity and quality of new players they got in whether they be legal or not. but you have to admit that the rest of lancshire were very poor at the early stages of the season with the amnount of beatings they all took from mitchells time and time again

Will I think you'll find Mitchells have won the Pennine this year, so they have won something. Maybe you were one of the boys missing that day.

A lot of Mitchells boys seem to be talking up Oisins, good idea lull them into a false sense of security or hope if you like. Yes Oisins have improved but are still nowhere near the standard of Mitchells. My only worry would be the lack of competive games mitchells have had and their full back line - probably the only line that hasnt been tested apart from in training. They musnt have seen much ball this year?

All I am saying is that Tara's should'nt be in the Intermediate grade, as it was thanks to some horrendous in fighting last year that cost them for a period of two weeks. Tara's are one of the top 4-5 teams in London, and this is shown in their League Form. They are far better than any intermediate team that has won in London for years (same said for NLS)

Highbal1 - You are looking at fixtures from the last few years. The fixtures have been changed this year.

A. Sean McDermotts (Warwickshire) v Dudien Connollys (Scotland) on 5th |October in Leeds
B. Gloucester winners V Lancashire winners 5th October in Birmingham
C. St.Dympnas(Hertfordshire) v Yorkshire winners 5th October in Birmingham
D. London winners(North London Shamrocks V Taras (Replay)
SEMI-FINALS (19th October) A vD and B v C (Netural Venues)
Final (2nd November

Each game will be interesting. It will be whoever will turn up on the day.
Lets hope whoever wins it takes it forward and puts up a good show in the All Ireland Quarters.

look what does the pennine league mean nothin lad. every teams season is based on how they do in the championship. people remember who won championships not leagues. what will stick out in peoples memory of 2008 who ins the all ireland on sunday. the rest is irrellevant FACT. SO to this point mitchells have won nothin worth talking about. the need to further themselves on last seasons performance to have a good season. but there are very good teams in the way of that. its very tough to call.

My Pennine league meddles mean as much to me as my Championship meddles.
I also think winning the Pennine league is a bigger achievement than winning the Lancashire or Yorkshire championship.

Your some pup Will, keep having these late nights on the beer and you might have to be content with a place on the bench come All-Britain final day.

Catface I have a couple of Pennine league medals in my back pocket and I would swap them any day for Championship medal. I can see your point a bit, I remember when the senior Championship used to be Oisins, Lawrences and Peters a few years ago. You could potentially only have to win one game and you could be Lancashire Champs.

willferral - I can assure you that every single player that Oisin have played has been registered properly.

At the end of the day it comes down to 15 men against 15 men. With hard work any team can be hard to beat. I for one am certainly looking forward to next Sunday!

Oisin Abu!

I know at least one Oisins player who has played for two clubs in Lancashire this season, if thats not illegal I dont know what is.

Will cant look past Mitchells defending champions and instead of losing players they added more qaulity players to compliment last years team.

Sparks have you given away the Oisins game plan, they are only going to use 15 players , no subs as they dont want to get more lads cup tied for the junior semi. As they know the Senior is a for gone conclusion.

Bob - At any given moment in the game it is 15 vs 15 (unless there is a sending off). Diverting the course of the argument to semantics is a cheap trick but I'm sure the esteemed members of this forum can see passed your tactic.

Bookmaker - Oisin have only played players that have been properly registered with them. We cannot be held accountable for other club's flaunting of the rules and subsequent escape from punishment. If other teams had issue with Oisin registering any of the current panel unfortunately their chance to oppose said registrations has now passed.

Always so serious sparks, must be plenty of craic in your house. You should take a leaf out of willferals book, at least he's good craic.
