County Finals and All Britain Draw

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

It seems like all county finalists have been decided and some finals also played. Can people fill me in on the county finalists and winners. Does anyone know the All Britain draw?? Hopefully JM will have a bit of competition this year on the way to the All Britain- as the lack of competitive match practice was a factor when playing in the Junior quarter final last year.

Warickshire - Sean Mcdermotts won 3-6 to 8 points against Casements
Scotland - Dunedin Connollys won 14 points to 1-7 against Glasgow Gaels
Lancashie - Mitchells vs Oisins - week on Sunday
London - NLS vs winners of semi fianl replay
Any predictions for the All Britain winner?
I'd say Dunedin to beat Mitchells in the final!!

do mitchels and connollys not meet in the semi if mitchells ever get out of their county with the ever improving Oisins. three of the q/f draws is scotland v yorkshire and lancshire v gloustshire and london v warwickshire

Thanks for your replies
The semi finals look interesting. I'm predicting JM vs Cuchulainns- repeat of the Pennnine league final. At least that should be competitive. Denedin- Tara/NLS in the other.
And then I feel the final will be much more competitive than last year- as Dunedin were good last year, only 1 point in it- and they kicked a lot of wides!! and Tara have been billed as a foregone conclusion to make the AB final- although NLS seem to be upsetting the applecart in London

Time for some Predictions.
I think Dudien Connollys will be too strong for Mc Dermotts.
The Lanchashire Winners ( and its far from a cert that it will be JM) will overcome anything from Gloucester
Yorkshire, if Culchullians, should overcome St Dympnas
and Taras

D will beat A and C will beat B
leaving a final Taras Vs Oisins/JMitchels

I wrote a comment earlier on this but somehow managed to insult someone and it wasn't posted even though i made a point that didn't mention/threaten anyone!!!!

So, for the second time...........I remember earlier on in the year everyone on here writing off Gloucestershires chances in the All Britain, and they won it and no matter what arguement you throw at it thats the fact, so i feel a little respect for the county champions of the British championship winners wouldn't go a miss!!!

Gloucestershires chances in the All Britain have to be strong as the previous post stated they werent considered contents for the all britain and won well in the end!

Scotland have the easist draw and I expect a Mitchels - Taras final!

May the best team win!

Any players we should watch out for both english born and guys that made a good grade back home?

Lads, lets face it Gloucsterhire won the Junior county because 1 Lancashire didnt field, 2. Scotland didn't field and 3. London sent up half a team due to some fixture mix up.
The club champions from Hert and Glouc aren't strong enough, and you can include Warks in that too. Cuchulainns have made Yorks stronger this year, but think they'll lose out to JM in semi. The other semi between DC and NLS/Tara could be a close one. DC need to play competitive games much as JM do.
I'm going for a JM- DC final, with JM to win out again

regardless of what you may think jm are not even out of the county yet so first things first. please tell me what competitive games jm have played this year. they hammerer very team they have playe this year with no prob. but the championship final is different there are quite a few lads missin thru injury fr the game and oisins are ever improving as well so it aint over yet by a long shot. could be no better time for oisins to play the liverpool lads

If Tara get through the London County they will get through the all-britain easily and will have a serious opportunity of getting to a junior all-ireland. JM beat a mccurtains team that weren't as strong as the team previous or either of the London finalists this year. DC are a relative unkown and haven't had any competitive matches so its going to be hard see how they would get to a final, though it could happen.

Fancy a Dunedin v's John Mitchels final, depending on JM's getting out of the county.

the long and short of it is.... The Tara's will wipe the board clean of any opposition in the britain champ. It is so much harder to win a London Champ than a GB one... END OF STORY

I disagree fancyride. the intermediate in london is hard won but thats what those london teams aim for.

teams like JM and DC are aiming for the allbritain as their own championships are weak. thats why london teams often fail to win it.

Lads whats this if John Mitchells get out of the county? I'll bet my house that Mitchells get out out of the county with a few points to spare. Going to only be one winner of the All-Britain Mitchells for two in a row.

I have read all the post so far and it amazes me that nobody has dealt in fact yet.

1. Tara are not out of London yet and by all accounts will have their work cut out against NLS in the replay.

2. Whoever comes out of London will be very hard to stop for the All Britain due to the competitiveness of the London setup.

3. Mitchells will be favourites to retain their crown; however it will be a tougher task than last year.

4. There will be no Dunedin and Mitchell's Final as if they win both there Qfs they meet in the semi final.

5. People are righting off Dunedin, yet they have a good recent history in this competition and are due to win one. Lost 2 finals in 04 and 05 and gave Mitchells their hardest game last year (in Liverpool). Good outside bet.

6. It is difficult to compare the 06 champions Fulham with last years London champs as Fulham have proved they are a serious senior contenders in the last 2 years.

7. No team should be written off as any team could win on the day but it would be hard to look past a London Vs Lancashire Final with Dunedin an outside chance.

8. The Draw as Follows:
A - Scotland VS Warwickshire
B - Lancashire Vs Yorkshire
C - Gloucestershire Vs Hertfordshire
D - London

Semi Final
A Vs B
C Vs D

You London lads really fancy yourselves as yous did last year and you could not deal with Mitchell's in any position of the pitch and a scoreline of 2-10 to 0-7 in an all Britain game is a disgrace. yous back again bragging about your high standard of football comedians ye are. Bob the builder must live in a tent if he thinks that oisins are out of the running for a senior county title. Mitchell's have won nothing to date and it rests on this one game. Can they live with the pressure and expectation of last year?
