Wrong thread.

Either dropped or left. I know two of the players who were very much regulars in the team since last season decided to opt off. Doesnt bode well.

But amazingly enough Under 16's can't play as it is deemed an adult competition!

According to a prominent journalist in the Royal County both players left the panel. Doesnt look too positive going forward

Not just with Meath that problem occurs. All counties are training in April

First 8 words in what i said are key. Discussion is not about what other counties are doing.

Never agreed with lads playing at least 3 years out of age anyway ( unless they really have to due to lack of numbers available ) as they will have plenty of time to play and need to develop physically. Clubs just lose players every year by playing players out of age and leaving older boys on the sideline . I have seen players leave and not play again and worse still their families lose interest in supporting the club anymore . Sometimes I feel sorry for these young lads who are very good at underage level because everybody wants them on their team and eventually these lads can get fed up of looking for their gear bag every night and just not bother anymore or injury burnout can happen .

What about Round 2, few clubs already under pressure after losing round 1, Simonstown V Dunboyne is the stand out in the Senior, Couple of very interesting ones in the Intermediate, and on that, what an performance from Mickey Newman on Saturday night for Kilmainham.

Does anybody know if the head of the fixture commitee in the county board is from Duleek?? It got a senior game in every round last year and now again more games this year....its an absolute shambles of a pitch and isn't fit for any adult football let alone senior championship. Everyone deserves better for the championship

I agree with you - but in this instance it is about filling in for lads who are 18,19 who are tied into their adult teams. I think a lot of clubs will have to go down the age groups to fill those gaps.

Yes, Ollie Cudden is the Chairman of the CCC, he is a Duleek man, Jimmy Henry is the Fixtures Secretary he is a Clan a Gael man, both clubs do well out of the fixtures.

Why are the fixtures sent out to clubs different to the ones on the Meath Gaa website? Syddan V Meath Hill has been sent out for Saturday night but its down for Sunday on the website, that is really not good enough.
