It's never been done before, but a 5 in a row is probably within the scope of this Dublin team. centerfield (Mayo) - Posts: 360 - 27/08/2017 18:30:56 2038794 Link 2 |
Only for that semi failure against Donegal in 2014 most definitely yes! Still very possible but someone may catch them between this years final and 2 more years of no losses. Kerry will come again. Nice deflection thread for a Mayoman to set up ;) Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 27/08/2017 18:39:56 2038801 Link 24 |

Out of touch too. I said earlier that this Dublin team is ARGUABLY the best to play the game and that I expected them to win. You called it artogance. Talent again beat tactics. Tyrone completely overhyped, mostly by Ulster people. 15 men in your own 45 when 7 points down? Stoneage tactics. Sean Cavanagh, an absolute legend and a warrior. My favourite Tyrone player of all time.

OK centrefield, maybe we should just crown the Dubs champions for for the next three to five years and not bother playing a championship (maybe the provincials). It would save counties a lot of money and solve the 'club player' problem. neverright (Roscommon) - Posts: 1648 - 27/08/2017 20:14:57 2038874 Link 0 |
There isn't a bother on you Ulsterman you're still your feisty self and say what you have to say. Posters like you, Royal Dunne, Jack Goff stick by ye're guns despite the flak. It beats blandness any day.

In fairness Joxer a lot of us didn't see that coming. I was criticising a new Dublin poster for saying Dublin would win by 7 last week and i just stopped short of calling him arrogant. Tyrone were scoring big totals. I know it was against weak opposition but Dublin were putting up similar totals against similar opposition. To me Tyrone looked like, to use Pat Gilroy's immortal phrase, 'Startled Earwigs'. In hindsight it was a team with 4 all irelands since 2011 with a team that have none since 2011. Maybe there was a bit of nostalgia from the noughties that some of us had for Tyrone too. At the end of the day even Pat Spillane was saying that this Dublin team were probably greater than his own team. Some admission from him. Look another way of looking at this is if Dublin have a 2012, 2014 or 2016 (especially 2012 and 2016) flat type of season they can easily be beaten. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 27/08/2017 20:50:55 2038905 Link 24 |
Laughable, the brown nosing just to get a few likes.

Agree Dubs great team but stop the sanctimonious rubbish - as much as Tyrone had 15 men in their own half when Dubs attacked - the same was exactly the case when Tyrone attacked even when game was in its infancy- I have pictures to prove it - so let's not keep pretending that Dubs play differently from everyone else - the difference is the are a professional setup with a great pick riding the fantastic wave they find themselves on now!

Yes five in a row without question. Look at their bench today. border Gael (Monaghan) - Posts: 894 - 27/08/2017 23:03:34 2038981 Link 0 |
Its possible. It might not be the right time for Dublin supporters to talk about this subject but for the neutrals among us (not too many btw, we all would love to see Mayo do it for once and for all), it is a relevant topic. Donegalman (None) - Posts: 3830 - 27/08/2017 23:13:53 2038993 Link 0 |

I've a problem with that comment moc.dna. Myself and Ulsterman have posted back and forth a bit and without going too much into it was feeling a bit low a few weeks back. My comment was merely meant as a pickup to him. Royal Dunne and myself used have major disagreements over things like the Irish language on TG4 games but i got to know him better and certain difficult times he has faced over the past year or so. So before you make assumptions based on nothing only wanting to have a snipe at me best say nothing in future. The first thought that came into your head was i was fishing for likes. Says a lot about your mentality. Negative oul assumptions first and foremost. Brown nose my back side! Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 28/08/2017 00:06:41 2039032 Link 24 |

I wouldn't put it past this team to win 5+ in a row, but seriously lets not blow the trumpet too much you still have to beat Mayo who could swap their Full back (O'Shea) to Full Forward in the final and give them an Ariel threat like Donaghy. To me that Dublin team tore us to shreads and obviously I wish I could say we ran them close or that we knew how to beat them but they are a team of quality, selfishness and utter brilliance. As a neutral I'd Love to see Mayo win but Head says Dublin will destroy Mayo like every other team this year Find_the_space (Tyrone) - Posts: 313 - 28/08/2017 02:22:05 2039054 Link 1 |
