If you're west Galway and I saw a good number off them in tuam on Sunday there drive was more like 1h 25min. Galway Bay FM are no supporters of the Galway GAA teams, especially the footballers. I always remember the commentator calling Galway footballers "muck" when they were drawing with the Dubs in the Pearse stadium. They also have no Gaeilge on that radio station. The same chaos that day for people who arrived 5 minutes before hand and expected to waltz into the ground. When the connacht council are running the gate arrive early is the name of the game. Ill planned? Do back in the fifties they should have been thinking about people who wanted to park at the gate? As a matter of interest where did you park? And where were you travelling from? The annual Tuam AC 8k takes place this Sunday at 2.30 and it will pass near the stadium. There will be extra traffic and maybe a few restrictions after the game. I thought the town was buzzing on Sunday and brillant athmosphere. i left Briarhill just before 12.55 and got to the roundabout in Tuam at end of Motorway at 1.15ish . Bit of a backlog there so went straight on towards Milltown and in Ballygaddy rd and parked in O'Tooles .Was outside pitch at 1.30 . Only problem was got caught somewhere Saturday and couldn't get to a Supervalue so 1.45 before I got into pitch but that was partially my own fault even though I wouldn't say Connacht Council covered themselves in glory. Yeah, there's an exhilarating atmosphere in Tuam on match days v Mayo - and bear in mind an FBD round. Can't wait for the league to start - hopefully people will have worked out suitable parking areas for themselves, and arrive early.. Let's all get behind the stadium project. Galway football people should be proud of the Tuam Stadium tradition. I'm sure most of the contributors have fond memories of playing on the hallowed turf. When the stadium and terracing is completed it will be a great venue. Just wondering how did the sale of the €5 "Prograns!" go? Must say it was an excellent idea.
