Well done to Mayo. Delighted for ye. Disappointed with the lack of character displayed by Kerry. There is no dishonor in defeat if you carry yourself with dignity. Mayo have always done so throughout these past seven years, as did Dublin in the years prior to their dominance. But Kerry today, for all their so-called 'pedigree' failed to do so, which was epitomized by Donaghy's rather cowardly reaction at the end. Take your defeat son... in the same way you accepted the plaudits when you were victorious. Best of luck Mayo in the final, you are a credit to yourselves and the province. offyertrolley (Leitrim) - Posts: 141 - 26/08/2017 19:38:44 2038184 Link 5 |
Congrats to Mayo on a great performance today. Hope that they can go on and win the All-Ireland now. Despite all the criticism directed at them over the years and all their near misses, this group of players deserve one. Still going to be difficult no matter who wins tomorrow between Dublin and Tyrone. lilywhite1 (Kildare) - Posts: 3028 - 26/08/2017 19:52:29 2038194 Link 2 |
I've no chip at all. I was accused of being from Kerry a while back as i wanted David Clifford to stay in Ireland. I've a lot of time for Jack O'Shea, Mick O'Connell, the Gooch, Marc O'Se, the late Paidi, Dara O'Cinneide. Hardly anti Kerry? I don't like Spillane hypocrisy and Kerry getting a soft deal on cynicism in the media and i've never had any grá for 'the Star' or BJ Sheehan for unsporting conduct. P.s. I've an awful lot of time for Mick O'Dwyer for obvious reasons!! Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 26/08/2017 20:03:41 2038209 Link 28 |
Fellas lining up here to kick Kerry when they are down. Where were ye at 1pm today? Cheap shots. KK1926 (Kilkenny) - Posts: 175 - 26/08/2017 20:06:51 2038212 Link 1 |
A number of the Kerry players tried to rough up the Mayo lads before the ball was thrown in. They got their answer

Thoroughly deserved win for Mayo. Really outclassed the mighty kingdom today. Hope they go all the way now. enver (Limerick) - Posts: 128 - 26/08/2017 20:28:23 2038240 Link 1 |
Physically they aren't as well conditioned as Mayo. Probably because Mayo are so seasoned. Kerry were bullied today.

Tomás O'Sé on the Sunday Game tomorrow night.. 'Yerra Kieran was frustrated at this stage and swung out. It doesn't look good bu these things happen in the heat of the moment. A pity Conor McGregor didn't land a few like it last night'. Cue nervous laughs from Dessie Dolan, Ciaran Whelan and a witty comment from Dessie Cahill. Congratulations to Mayo they really threw off the shackles and went out and won the game. AOS was marvellous in the early stages and really set the tone. Looks like Andy Moran is unmarkable Mayo will need the same from him if they are to get their September gold. Mayo look like a team that have matured and are ready to win the AI. I think they'll have a better chance against Tyrone but won't fear Dublin. I'm afraid it's a dark day for Kerry, EF is a fine manager but I think he's taken them as far as he can. Kerry should take a longer term view they really have to bring on the younger players the current set up won't win an AI. theduke66 (Dublin) - Posts: 339 - 26/08/2017 20:53:47 2038268 Link 0 |
I still haven't a clue what 'did i pay €250' is about. If you have something to say say it. I'll go back to the 30s and up to the present day to point out continued cynicism if i have to. At least i'm talking straight. That incident on Tommy Murphy was well known. Laois76 (Laois) - Posts: 1270 - 26/08/2017 21:17:38 2038281 Link 28 |
Went to the game as a neutral today and it was great viewing. Players putting bodies on the lines for their cause and surprising composure by Mayo when they had Kerry on the rack. Kerry set out to up the physical stakes from the start. Each one of there defenders tried to rough up their opposing forward before the opening whistle. I'd imagine this was to test Mayo's underbelly. Unfortunately for them, Mayo were not found wanting and if anything they were fired up by it. breakingball22 (Louth) - Posts: 419 - 26/08/2017 21:18:42 2038282 Link 2 |
