Maybe when Rory Gallagher gets sacked or resigns.

As expected Rory Gallagher confirmed as manager this evening, with Ryan McMenamin as part of backroom team. Was Ryan with team recently in coaching role?

Hope Maxi Curran isnt coming as he was on pitch more than players with Donegal!!

Great news. Hopefully Rory can get some young talent in like the McAleer brothers at the gaels who have been top prospects for years now. No reason why we cant challenge for ulster this year with some new thinking and new players in.

So Rory Gallagher thought so much of fermanagh as a player he wouldn't play for them but now the county board see fit to appoint him as a manager.....laughable

So we have Rory back !! We in Fermanagh have bad memories !! A few years back when Pat King was manager did he not go off & play for Portadown the day before a Ulster Championship game...........He some guy is our Rory !!!

So now we have Rory , I think it's about time that county boards club eirne or whoever apppointed him let the GAA members of Fermanagh and those who do the work on the ground and put their hands deep into pocket to finance these appointments know exactly how much these celebrity managers and their side kicks are getting. Also how much is been squandered by these managers. I know it's the thing to do in the GAA treat your ordinary every day members like mushrooms, keep them in the dark and feed them s..t,.But just because every other county does this ,that doesn't mean that our county board can go about things in an open and transparent way and let the people who are the GAA know exactly who and what is been payed to these people. To quote Peter Quinn from years back when an investigation was held into under the table payment to managers " we could not find the tables" . Enough said .

Think everyone should get behind the new manager on here. He was a reliable footballer for the county and did a lot for Ferm - probably the best we have had. Great opportunity to really push on from last years good work now and challenge for the Anglo Celt.

oh aye I couldnt but agree that we will be the better for it, but it wont be pretty. Lets also see if the players are as happy come the depths of jan and feb when his new regime starts to bite in
Look I'll be cosy watching from the stand so I wont mind but the players are in for a shock
We need some fresh faces and some fresh ideas, can only be good, but Im not expecting any sporting spectacles !!

I see Rory Gallagher has added to his management set-up Shane McCabe as selector and Ronan Gallagher as goalkeeping coach..."goalkeeping coach" has this happened with other managers?
By the way I haven't heard whether Pete McGrath has secured any position with any other county or club.

Yes. McGrath had a goalkeeping coach for a few years, don't think he was there this year.

I know all three have vast playing experience and were all quality players. While Ronan has been doing goalkeeping coaching with Ulster GAA but what managerial / coaching experience does Shane & Ricey bring to the table?
I'm not saying they will not be good backroom additions but the question needs to be asked.

Fermanagh goalkeeping hasn't been that great in recent seasons either with Snow or Treacy in nets. I believe the new manager has observed this and therefore is investing in Ronan Gallagher as a goalkeeping technique trained tutor and ex county goalie as a good netting keeping is extremely important. As for Shane McCabe I'm not sure what specialties he will bring except foot skills from his soccer career. I don't know enough about Ryan McMenamin but he must have some qualities otherwise the manager wouldn't have invited him to join his management team.
On the other query about the ex manager, Pete McGrath he has just taken up a post as Louth senior manager last week after apparently making the county board there wait for weeks to see if he would receive any other invitations. No others materialised.
On an issue, players weren't happy with the use of Lissan for training last few winters resulting in other venues being used as alternative. I cannot see Rory opposing the players reservations about Lissan.

Wired To The Moon - I am fully aware of Fermanaghs recent record at underage level,i witnessed the tough 21 defeat to Cavan last March and the many more in previous

My simple question is does anyone know if separate manager will be dedicated to under 20 or does Gallagher want to get involved as part of his building plans?/

Either way its crucial that Fermanagh begin to improve from 17s up to Senior, last 15 years record at underage has been simply awful

15 years? Did they not make the 03 ulster final? That's less than 15 years.
