I'd agree to that sentiment. Cheers.

Great result, really great. Not a perfect performance by any means but some character in last 5 mins. Dan Morrisey absolutely monster game - he got a bit a stick before but hes grown into a really top inter-county performer. Some of the substitutions were confusing at the time but shows value of the panel ss lsds tbat came on did well too. Great win by the whole panel and all concerned. Could have def have 3 goals only for 3 savage saves. Wouldn't be saying we should have won by 10/12 points as Kilkenny hit some bad wides. Few wayward passes by us but in the conditions I'll forgive it. 2 Morrissey's superb. Full forward line were excellent. Bit sharper in front of goals and may have netted a few but great to see the drive to go for goal. 27 points a great return. Overall a mighty win. Will watch the game again and reflect a bit more then. Very happy to be in the semi though. BigMack (Cork) - Posts: 182 - 15/07/2018 17:15:14 2122170 Link 0 |
Massive massive win for this group. Outplayed Kilkenny for large parts but had to win it the hard way which will only galvanise this group more. Kiely used his bench to perfection. If limerick can clean up the passing in fb line who actually defended excellently today and get that killer instinct in front of goal their hurling will take them places. Luimnech abu. I told ye all Limerick would get to croke park. All yer negativity after the Ennis defeat was ridiculous. As for clare ye must have paid Davy fitz a backhander yesterday. His negative tactics cost Wexford big time. Clare haven't a hope against galway. Limerick/cork could go either way. I'd fancy us to take cork just about. brud (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 15/07/2018 19:09:42 2122284 Link 0 |
Great win today. Unlike the last few years we were able to stay strong right till the end. Goal chances will have to be taken next time. Thought Lynch had a poor game today. Expect more of him. Should have been taken off. Hopefully he will be better next time out. Greenmen73 (Limerick) - Posts: 27 - 15/07/2018 19:44:10 2122324 Link 0 |
You're great Brud. You also posted your team on the 9/07/18 that had no Dan Morrisey on it, in the running for MOTM. Also please show a small bit of humility in your posts with silly comments about Clare's chances against Galway. Southeastman (Limerick) - Posts: 22 - 15/07/2018 19:52:12 2122332 Link 0 |
Galway will see off clare with ease. Clare will struggle at 3 and 6 against galway. Canning and Glynn will show up clare's weaknesses. Also galway will press right up on there puckouts which both Wexford and Limerick didn't do. I'm entitled to my opinion. I would have started hickey to man mark either Reid or hogan. Hogan scored 1-3 from play which shows he wasn't closed tightly enough. Yes Dan Morrissey had a stormer and probably up for MOTM along with his brother and Eoin Murphy tonight. brud (Limerick) - Posts: 943 - 15/07/2018 20:04:52 2122341 Link 0 |
Huge congratulations and a huge thank you to all involved today. Think this game will bring us on hugely. Big well done to Tom Morrissey on his interview. Real credit to his family club and county. I was one of Dan Morrissey's doubters but today he gave me my answer and I'm delighted to admit I was wrong. Think bringing Dowling on in half forward line is a huge improvement on Dempsey. Casey in full forward line was the big success I think most expected it to be. Still think Pat Ryan should also come in at 60 min stage. I have believed all year that we are better than Cork and see no reason to change my mind. If anything I'm more confident nowt welpastit (Limerick) - Posts: 740 - 15/07/2018 20:50:00 2122379 Link 0 |
Great play from today. Skill, pride, control, aggression, calmness under pressure but most of all some beautiful hurling on display from this young limerick team. Not sure about playing Hickey. He has shown zero form when given a chance and our backs have been excellent in the main. You would play him based on what he did in 2013??? Why would you even think about making such a drastic change and upset your entire gsmeplan to hold one player. Think it would have been madness myself. Also has a staunch limerick supporter I think the dismissing of Clare's chances are crazy they have some absolutely fantastic hurlers and to write them off is just ignorant or petty at this stage. Galway will be favourites but I for one could see Clare giving Galway a right rattle. Galway have had t relatively easy so far compared with the Munster teams knocking lumps out of each other. Clare will test them more than they have seen before I think and nothing short of their very best will be good enough. Fitzy01 (Limerick) - Posts: 443 - 15/07/2018 21:10:27 2122394 Link 0 |
Here we go, off ye go again. Will ye not just enjoy today and stop this nonsense about us beating this team and that team. Poster was correct earlier. Bit of humility goes a long way. BigMack (Cork) - Posts: 182 - 15/07/2018 21:25:00 2122401 Link 0 |
Does anyone have any equipment to block the Limerick 95fm signal until Limerick are finished in the championship????

Well done, SouthEastMan! Best of luck to Clare against Gaillimh. A small minority of our "fans" could learn a lot from the humility of our players. What a performance today of skill, heart and soul. So delighted to see big Dan getting motm. Hes taken some criticism and confidence smashes over the years but he's clearly a guy who works really hard and an example of how keeping your head down and working hard pays off. Both him and his brother speak really well too and are really down to earth fellas so great for their family for both of them being nominated for the award. blackspot91 (Limerick) - Posts: 1055 - 16/07/2018 03:00:15 2122478 Link 0 |
Congrats Limerick. Great to see Munster counties rise up. Why are you constantly bringing Clare into it? You are constantly making stupid predictions about them. To date you have said Clare would lose to Limerick, Cork and Wexford. We know how the Limerick game went, Cork were favorites so no great shock there but we beat Wexford comfortably. Now you talk about Galway hammering us. Galway are massive favorites so not exactly mystic meg stuff. I love when people claim we will be hammered. Name the last time Clare were hammered in a championship game? Ill tell you, probably Cork 2013 when we lost by 8. Yet you say it like it is a foregone conclusion. With no pressure we can have a right go now off Galway. I am quietly optimistic. All the pressure is on Galway. Its like 2013 revisited. Sure no one gave us a hope against Limerick nor Cork in the final. Our key players are coming back into form - Kelly, Conlon, Podge. O Donnell was superb yesterday. I fear a little for our defense but any team would against Galways attacking unit. In saying that - Morey has been very good since getting his place back, Shanahan excellant all year and Pat O Connor and Browne have been very good this season. Again, I fail to see why you are constantly having a go at us??? A Clare man must have ran off with your misses. LohansRedHelmet (Clare) - Posts: 2697 - 16/07/2018 05:45:00 2122480 Link 0 |
I said after the Ennis defeat that we would get to croke park and I was proved right. We showed clare too much respect as did Wexford. Its down to Kinnerk and Davy fitz knowing the clare players too well and over analysing clare. Galway won't do that. They will play there own game which will in contrast show up clares weakness at no.3 and no. 6. The last team I want to meet in this championship are clare again. We struggle with clare and always over analyise how to take them on. If we beat cork which we have a great chance of doing I'd rather play galway than clare. If ye think I'm disrespecting clare then I can't give them a bigger compliment than that.

On the morning after a glorious victory against the Cats for the first time in Champioship in 45 years, a poster is trying to clog up the forum with a debate about his pathological dislike of another County!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! On top of that your predictions are nearly always way wide of the mark. Remember Dublin in the League earlier in the year - you predicted Dublin would beat us by 4/5 points!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Man of the Match Dan Morrissey yesterday doesn't even make your first Limerick 15!!!!!!!!!!!!! Back in this beautiful Monday, Kiely and Kinnerk were vindicated yet again yesterday with their team selection. The bench impact was huge with Dowling and Casey getting 3 of the 5 final points down the mad home stretch. Roll on Croker.
