Dan Morrissey will start 7. Been excellent for over 12 months now. Hickey not really in contention I'd imagine. DoD will start midfield. After watching WoD in Carlow he's a bit behind. I think kiely will start mul but Casey will be used. That's what I think he'll start with. I think Mike Casey is our best full back but richie mc had an excellent game in Nolan park last summer and kiely will surely factor this in.

Dan Morrissey can't be dropped at this stage

i think cody might start colin fennelly as he made a difference when brought on as a sub , so you might be right about Richie Mac starting . i know we should be blooding a new fullback but needs must and if Richie can keep Fennelly quiet again like he did last year and tj Reid is kept quiet we have a great chance . Walter Walsh if fit is another danger man and hard to mark but may not play due to a groin injury . On the other hand i think we should go out and play our own game and stop worrying too much about kk . we tried this against clare and it backfired bigtime ... have confidence in what we have done against tipp cork and watfd and see where it takes us , we can respect kk but we dont have to fear them anymore as we can beat them as the players have the ability and no shortage of physicality and skill . Hopefully there will be a massive limk support there as our team deserve it and that was evident by the big limk following in carlow sat evening and the mighty cheer for every player that went off when substituted , the 16 th man can make a big difference to lift the players when needed so well done to everyone that " followed me up to carlow ". i dont think the limk v kk minor game is on before it which is a proper scandal as our minors deserve a big limk following to shout them on , i could be wrong but i read that gal v kk was on at 12 . The minors got screwed last weekend having to play against galway with a big galway crowd in for the senior game and naturally enough a very small limk crowd , surely the kk and limk minors should have been on before the senior game in the interest of fairness but its only limerick so who gives a s**t about us as in some peoples eyes ( Des Cahill and co ) we are only making up the numbers but let our hurling do the talking on sunday is my answer to that ...Luimneach ABU WhipOnTheBall (Limerick) - Posts: 138 - 10/07/2018 11:15:10 2120309 Link 0 |

If Limerick and Wexford win it's an open draw. If Limerick and Clare win it's Limerick v Cork anf Clare v Galway.

If Limerick and Wexford win, then Limerick play Galway. Teams that have met before will be avoided meeting again if possible.

There are in fact no pre-ordained pairings in this year's semi-finals. So winners of Limerick/Kilkenny will be playing either Cork or Galway. Presume draw will be made next Monday morning. beirbua (Limerick) - Posts: 188 - 10/07/2018 16:48:19 2120450 Link 0 |
i thought that was just for provincial finalists??

Extract from Jerome O'Connell article Limerick Leader before Carlow game..........."John Kiely's Limerick are two wins away from a July 28/29 Croke Park semi final against Munster champions Cork or the Leinster champions, with no preordained pairings".

Thanks for that. I'll be surprised if they'd allow Clare v cork in a semi few weeks after a Munster final or kk v Galway similarly if that transpires.

Casey is too much of a threat to the Kilkenny fullback line to not be starting. Simple as. Bring mulcahy on with 20 mins to go. Overall Mulcahy started the championship very impressive against tipp/cork but his performance dipped in both Waterford/clare games.

Jerome O Connell is wrong, Clubgaa is correct, if we win and Wexford win we play Galway, if we win and Clare win we play Cork

Was in Carlow last week. Professional display. A Plan B might be needed tho v Kilkenny if plan A fails as it did in Ennis. At times Limerick seem over coached, looking for the perfect pass, perfect support runner, playing through the lines, all new jargon in the modern game. Principles of the game haven't changed & I'd rather Limerick be more direct. I do expect them to win & would make a few changes. Flanagan albeit young has been found out these last three games. Won't take on his man, poor ist touch and flinches when sees a man coming. Yes he destroyed Cahalane in Cork, sure Conlan did that in twenty minutes too. Casey if fully fit fit far superior to Flanagan & Mulcahy but probably doesn't fit into their system of movement & breaking the GPS barrier. Barry Nash not up to it either. Downes & Dempsey obviously not in Kielys plans but way better options. So I envisage two changes. Sean Finn in Mike Casey out. Ó Donoghue out for O Donovan. Can we please end this nonsense now.?? We are playing KILKENNY on Sunday, the aristocrats of hurling. No c/chip win over them since the A.I. final in 1973. If we play to our potential we have a decent chance. If we play like we did in Ennis we will be totally destroyed. There will be no easing up with these guys, they will fight on their backs to the bitter end, and are capable of beating us,or anyone, in the first 5 minutes or the last 5 minutes. Look at the spine of their team, any 1 of them would walk onto ours. If we do make it to a semi final well and good, but for ow all that matters in 2pm Sunday in Thurles. hamstring (Limerick) - Posts: 318 - 10/07/2018 22:22:44 2120569 Link 1 |
