Replying To LohansRedHelmet:  "You heard reports? What a load of waffle.

Did you see the incident? I doubt you did because if you did you would not have seen Reidy run across anyone. Both players were looking at the play not at each other - Byrnes walked into Reidy and hit the ground.

Heard reports...........thats a good one alright.

Reidy's card has been rescinded and thats the end of it."
Glad to see you backed away from your accusation against Byrne's 'simulation' as you called it and see it as an accident with no malice (from Reidy) or diving(from Byrne's) involved. As you say let's forget about it and move on, ye have a MSH and we have a qualifier to look forward to.

Well we are well into the season so far and my verdict
We have 2 good corner backs but no full back.
We have 2 good half backs with Declan Hannon filling in at centre back as he simply hasn't the stell to be an inter county centre back.
We have one midfielder.
We have quiet a few forwards but no real leaders.
We have made progress and but there is a long way to go.
John Kiely has done well but his decisions the last day were very poor and from what I hear, Limerick are not going well in training.

Less of the negativity plse Skule. Our subs and extended panel played Wexford's on Saturday and won comfortably. That would seem to indicate things are going well in training

Probably the best way to respond is the easy way.
Stop writing rubbish....
Simple really.

I wouldn't be negative or overly positive at this stage. The Clare game showed up a few deficiencies. Mike Casey isn't big enough for full back. Cian Lynch needs a midfield partner with a bigger engine...but O Donovan could be just tired and has hurled well over the campaign before losing power against Clare.

Agreed would not be overly negative after Clare game.
We made mistakes on the line and on the field but I would have confidence that these will be rectified. There has been significant improvements since last year.
We have difficulties in the full back line, we are struggling at full back and don't have many options if we lose anyone to injury. I think O'Donovan at midfield has done well to date and due to the type of game we are playing was bound to run out of steam after three games in three weeks. Our game plan worked for the first three games but we really played the last game on Clare's terms

In fairness to Darragh O'Donovan he got a dead leg early in the game and should have been replaced at half time. I di feel that management got a lot wrong as people have pointed out already but allowing the Clare short puck outs was a disaster. Casey was under severe pressure from Conlon because of this and I would argue that any full back would struggle in similar circumstances. Casey may not be a big man but he handled Devine, who is as big as Conlon, without any fuss the previous Sunday against Waterford.

Speaking of the Waterford game, I believe that we should have made changes to our team at half time while leading by 13 points. Our midfield and half forward line are covering huge distances in every game and it would have been an ideal opportunity to give them a rest. Instead, both Lynch and O'Donovan limped off of the pitch in the last 10 mins and Hegarty has been running out of steam early in the second half of each game apart from Tipperary. A midfield of Brown, O'Donoghue and a half forward line if Nash, Morrissey and Dempsey (I agree he has been poor) would have been sufficient to close out the game.

In general I feel we have made massive strides this year and I think the team will evolve even more. I would like English to be given the number 3 jersey as he is the long term solution with Casey and Finn in the corners. The half back line and midfield I am happy enough with eventhough I would like to see Hayes move to midfield to free up a position for a more natural forward. A few of the fringe forwards did very well against Wexford at the weekend, one of them got 2.6 from play, so there seems to be competition for places and this would indicate that training is very competitive.

You might think I am talking rubbish but a lot of Limerick supporters agree with me.
We are weak at full back , centre back, we need someone to partner Lynch, Kyle Hayes is not a centre forward and should be moved to midfield with Nash coming in to the team, Kiely didn't think our 5 backs could hold Clare's 5 forwards.
I am not writing us off but we have a lot of issues to address.
I said at the start of the year you need a strong spine to the team at the moment we don't.

Replying To skule111:  "I am saying I have been hugely impressed and delighted by Limerick. Cork will beat Waterford.
If Limerick play as they have been they will beat Waterford and Tipp will beat Clare.
I have been pleasantly surprised by Limerick and it's a long time since I have seen a Limerick team so united, skilful and most of all heart. To draw with Cork with 14 men was a massive achievement
and we have a big panel which is a great bonus. I have a hunch it will be Limerick and Galway in the all Ireland final.
If we don't win it this year I am certain this team will win it within 3 years."
what a change in 3 weeks.........you should think before you write.!

yes exactly what I had thought after his earlier post. Like some supporters its either everything is great or falling apart, no middle ground.
This year to date has been a success, got promotion from 1B, qualified from Munster Championship, we are in bonus territory and with a bit of luck we could make All Ireland semi final. Kiely & Co. have improved us immensely from debacle of 2015/16 & there is a very definite improvement in some of the players we have and the style of play

I never made things out to be bad at all. I saw somewhere else that we were beat which turned out to be fake news. The free kick website. Who went well for Limerick?

Very measured post, Higgins. The world beaters and no-hopers assessments are both daft.
12 of the lads in our first 15 are 23 or under. Not sure if any one won an All Ireland with that age profile........

We have had a very good year so far and it ain't over yet. We have the right players and management in situ.
It's an exciting journey and it could last a few years. Enjoy every moment.
