You're obviously new here if you think Wayno1 needs to get to more games, and actually the last two Leinster finals were €20 for the hill and not €25 like for this year, stand tickets were also €35 up to and including the day of the game the last couple of years too I'm pretty sure and not €40 on the day like for this Sunday. The discount didn't apply to the provincial and All-Ireland finals. As far as I'm aware, the tickets issued via a season ticket have stayed the same price. Gavin saying a seven year barren spell from 95 - 01/02 in Leinster drives him on is hard to read. Dublin have had almost a monopoly on Leinster titles for the last 12 seasons. If he made those comments in 2003 or 2004 then fine. By that logic Wicklow should be the most driven team in the Leinster championship. A better example would be in relation to All-Irelands but I suppose with how careful these press conferences are managed by counties now he will wait for September before saying that. Surely the only time to quote a Manager is when they something interesting? Nothing to see here. The way managers and teams manage the media now is so boring and banal. You stick a mic in front of a 19/20-year-old and he'll come out with some of the following nuggets: We knew if would be a tough game today (after 15 - 20 point win) We are not looking beyond our next game, the provincial semi-final (I'll be disappointed if we don't win the AI) I'm just glad to be on the team this year as it's my first year (with the form I showed in the Sigerson/ Fitzgibbon for the last 2 years, it's about time I was on the team). Killarney87 What do you actually want players and managers to do? Come out and give away a teams way they are going to set up or play, why would you want to work hard train hard and then reveal all in the lead up to a match. If they do come out with something they then get slated left right and centre by the media and people online so how do you actually win? The media will find something no matter what. If I was an inter county manager I would never give my proper team in the lead up to the game,what's the point for marketing reasons? Sure the same media outlets couldn't give gaa the coverage when there's rugby or English soccer on they only care about that. A much improved Kildare team this year, with the addition of good underage players from previous years, plus the return of Daniel Flynn and Paddy Brophy, allied to the confidence that comes from winning, puts us in a better position to compete with Dublin. Dublin the better side / panel . Much more experienced on the big day . Kildare have as much chance as down v monaghan or cork v tipp in munster first round. Dublin just ,because this team that cope with dublin around center field so have a good chance because kildare will have chances to play . If they can get inside and hit the net it could be close. Kildare have a big day ahead of them tomorrow, the ultimate test,what they've been training hard for all year.the game they've targeted 'the game they wanted.never mind what they did against a poor meath team in tullamore thats forgotten now .whats facing them tomorrow is the greatest dublin team to have ever played the game.a team that will not stop going flat out even if their 20 points ahead,makes no difference.the most ruthless team in the land.i hope its a good close game and not a whipping as i like kildare and their fans who are among the best in the country.i hope kildare stick with whats working for them their traditional style and not revert to the blanket keep the score down crap which they cant play play anyway..best of luck kildare' GGdub (Dublin) - Posts: 260 - 15/07/2017 08:54:36 2016768 Link

Lads I'm not trying to stir anything up just an opinion that maybe Dublin have set their own bar too high in term of their team, but I have to say that isn't the strongest Dublin I've seen. Personally I think their half forward line (actually their whole forward unit, but especially the half forward line) looks quite weak. Against ourselves I thought Kildares midfield and half back line were magnificent, aside from Fenton, could Dublin struggle in these areas?
